I came at around 10:30am because I was so afraid it was so famous there would be a line before open! On Saturday at opening (11:00am), there was only me and someone else ( ˊᵕˋ ;)
Regarding the ramen, i think it's the most delicious pork broth I have ever tasted in Japan! I think it's most recommended to try with a medium portion (those not used to eating ramen ordering large is not recommended) with normal oil and vegetables. Waited about 15min for a seat and ordered a medium ramen (my Japanese isn't good so wasn't really sure what I was ordering but knew it was ramen). Medium is huge! I was treated to the richest pork bone broth I've ever had. Delicious curly thick (assume handmade) noodles. Easily the best ramen I've had in Japan and I've had countless Ramen's across the 4 main islands.
Highly recommend.
Preserve with poor Japanese if your in town and try this.

Read moreI can’t believe I stumbled across this place in the back streets of Kusatsu. I was so excited to eat I forgot to take a photo of the meal. This little ramen shop is a one man operation, serving the most delicious broth with juicy pork meat and awesome thick noodles. It also had the perfect atmosphere, the little ticket machine and only counter seats facing the chef. I hope this man keeps making amazing ramen bowls for a very long time....
