While visiting Japan, I really wanted to play Modern. Unfortunately, they didn't have Modern events fire, but the people in there both working and players were so nice! We ended up playing a league Final fantasy Sealed event. I had a blast. They were really nice letting me google translate each card. Some of the people here spoke enough English to get by most of the time. This is a smaller store but a really nice community, one of the best stores I've gone to in Japan, ashame I can't be here for longer.
Thank you for having a great store and being foreigner friendly!
Side note: Pulled a Vivi and Summon Bahamute And given the price, it was really cheap to play since it was 770...
Read moreA delightful selection of small board/card games, and lots of MTG & Pokemon singles in cases and in discount singles boxes. I'm not a player or a collector - I just like the little pocket-sized bits of art. I gather that this store is usually a bit more costly on average than others, but as ever, its just luck if they have what you're after.
The staff were nice. The store had a few games playing in the back, which was fun to overhear and gave the place a nice feeling. It was a lovely spot to dig through a few trays and see a...
Read moreI’m an hobbyst and a gamer (RPG, board and card) since 1989 and I’ve always looked for shops of this kind during my trips.
Recently Japan has gotten into Boardgames and I can understand they still need time but... even if Yellow Submarine in other cities is definitely interesting, this Kyoto store is useless.
A few GW products and a rack of colors is the only “hobby” you can find.
Boardgames are 100% Japanese, no import nor Kickstarter stuff (like Surugaya or YS Tokyo’s store) and most of them dated.
Range of MTG and Yugi singles disappointing even if prices are lower than bigger Japanese cities.
Could havebeen a decent store for European standards...
