I had a very enjoyable visit with my friend on Saturday the 10th. I think it’s a great price and the bridge and island are beautiful. You can spend a long time on the island and still find new things to explore. My only issue is with the ticketing machines and staff. I put in a 500 yen to pay for 2 adult tickets (200 yen each, 400 yen total). Instead of the machine giving our tickets back, it only gave us 100 yen change back and no receipt. We tried to explain the situation (in Japanese) to the employee but she waved us off without speaking to us. The other employee checked the machine and the machine misread my 500 yen as 100 yen (I assume it’s an issue with the new coins). The employees would no longer speak to us and made us stand in the corner while we tried to explain the situation, ignoring us. We ended up having to go pay again. In the end we bought 4 adult tickets for two people. I wish the machine gave a receipt or there was another way to verify the money entered into the machine, but there wasn’t. At the very least, I wish one of the employees would speak with us and try better to address the issue. I’m not sure if it’s because we are foreigners (my boyfriend is Taiwanese) but we had no issue communicating in Japanese. Otherwise, we had a...
Read moreFukuurabashi Bridge is one of Matsushima’s most scenic spots and an absolute highlight for visitors. The long red bridge gracefully connects the mainland to Fukuurajima Island, offering beautiful panoramic views of the bay along the way. Walking across feels peaceful and refreshing, with the sea breeze and sound of waves surrounding you. Each season gives the bridge a different charm—from cherry blossoms in spring to autumn colors reflected in the water. The small entrance fee is well worth it for the experience and the views. A perfect place for a stroll, photos, and a moment of quiet beauty...
Read moreIt's quite good for taking a picture in here. This is the only way to go to Fukuurajima island. The island is not worth, but the bridge is quite okay. It cost 200¥ in to use this bridge. Close at 5PM. After 5PM, weirdly, it's free to use 😑😑
It might be quite good enough to take picture here in the morning or afternoon, when the sky is clear. At night, the bridge will turn on the light, not so fancy enough to enjoy. It will be better to go home than wait in here just to see the...
