Surugaya Nipponbashi — Local services in Osaka

I went here a week ago to buy figures. Considering the bad reviews, I am surprised that the cashier was pretty nice despite his broken english. However, he needs to be more careful when packing paid items. He did not place the "paid" sticker over my item so it created a false alarm at the store when I walked past the sensors near the escalators. In terms of price, it is much cheaper than Surugaya store in Tokyo branch. Plus, the items here are more complete. I would highly recommend to visit this branch if you're hunting figurines...

This place used to be a go-to way place for import games, but the import section has shrunk to a pitiful selection of tired old games. Also, if you try to sell import games here, they may find “scratches” on your game disks. If you ask them to point out the scratches, they’ll point at a section of the disk with no visible scratches. Of all the retro game stores I visited across Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, this was my favorite. The selection of games was very good, the store was well organized, everything was clean and had detailed labeling and prices were decent. The employees were very nice even though I only spoke English and I was impressed with their console selection, although everything was slightly overpriced.
