Nippombashi Crystal Hotel — Hotel in Osaka

Hotel room was tiny. Smallest I’ve ever been to in Japan or anywhere, with 2 large suitcases there was no floor space and we would climb over the beds in order to get from one side of the room to the other. The shower was almost impossible to use, good pressure but the head would just point at the wall unless I held onto it making for an annoying shower. Also I am 5’10 and had to crouch in the shower. The fan in the bathroom was not good so the room always felt and smelt muggy and everything was constantly damp in the room. The light outside the bathroom was on a motion sensor which meant it would turn on when you didn’t want it on and turn off when you wanted it on, super frustrating. The bed was two beds pushed up against one another so there was a hard bar in the middle of the bed to at was very uncomfortable. Despite all this the staff were very nice and it was in a good location and at a good price but made for not a pleasant time when...

Pros The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful and the hotel is located on a busy gamer/collector retail street around 20 mins walk from Amerikamura. The shower pressure is fabulous.

Cons Unfortunately, the rooms are tired and the beds are quite uncomfortable. There were only two tiny pillows for two twin beds pushed together (double room) and there were no more available to use at reception, there was also a sensor light in the entrance which went off every time I moved during my first nights sleep! Luckily the receptionist guy came and actually removed the light on day two or it would have been no sleep for three days! For the price it's ok, but I didn't sleep well overall...

The first room smelled like someone had been smoking, but they let us change rooms free of charge. The room we got was fairly dirty, we doubt the sheets were changed (hair and eyelashes under the blanket) and the walls were full of marks. The floor was clean enough and at least some maintenance had been done. We're allergic to mold and started reacting here, can't recommend the place to allergic people.

The free drinks and amenities were nice. Staff was helpful enough. Fair location.
