Maker's Watch Knot — Local services in Tokyo

Attentive staff. Watches developed and produced by Knot in Japan. All seem to contain sapphire crystal which was a big plus for me. They have 4 lines: basic quartz watch, chronograph, solar watch and an automatic. I believe the movements are from Citizen(basic quartz) , Seiko(chronograph). The automatic is based on a Citizen miyota Cal 9015. The solar watch I am not sure... The chronograph and basic watch have a very minimalist look reminding me of Skagen (I believe the founder of this company introduced Skagen watches into Japan)so....the true original inspiration comes from the Junghans Max Bill watch that retails for around $500 USD, these watches however didn't copy the domed crystal face which I imagine is hard to manufacture with sapphire crystal. The solar watch is titanium and reminds me of a Timex watch...doesn't look very impressive... The automatic looks pretty simple and elegant. Also at the store you pick a watch style and also pick a band you like. There is a good amount of customization at the store which I believe is the value...

I purchased a cap-38 watch from the Omotesando store. The staff were fantastic, very friendly, helpful and professional. The salesperson spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable about their products. The product line up in the store was impressive, plenty of options for both watches and straps. The watch itself is very good quality, at this price point all the watches are amazing value for money. I could have easily walked away with another couple, maybe next time! Love the customisation options, the straps are very easy to change and it’s well worth getting at least a couple to give you more options for your outfit preferences. If you want a well made Japanese watch at a great price point I’d highly recommend...

Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. They explained many of the differences between mechanical, solar, and battery quartz watches in English using a translator periodically when needed. Despite the language barrier the spoke fluent enough English which allowed me to pick out the perfect watch to commemorate my honeymoon. My wife and I were very pleased with the level of customization and customer service we received and in no way felt rushed or pressured while we tried on many different watch...
