While planning the itinerary for Japan 🇯🇵, I stumbled upon a few Instagram and Tik Tok videos on this burger joint. Since we were heading to Cat 🐈 Street @ Harajuku, why not? Here’s my review on this Epic 😈 Burger 🍔 Joint - Goku Burger
We didn’t make any reservations 📝but walked in late afternoon 🕒 to see if we could get a table. We waited at the door for about 1️⃣0️⃣mins (🍀 us!) and then we were led to a private room at the back. (Wow bonus dining experience 🤪)
Staff : A lady 💁🏼♀️ staff serves us at the entrance and she is both friendly and polite 🤗. (She is in my pic 📸) She tried her best to communicate with us in English 🏴and we really appreciate it 🙏🏼. Once in the room, we were given the menu and also a simple explanation 💬 on how to order.
Restaurant : Bold colors. Gold 🟨and Brown 🟫 Wooden 🪵 surfaces adorned the restaurant. This gave off a wild, strong 💪 masculine vibe, especially with the golden bull head 🐮 hanging at the entrance. The warm light 💡also added a nice touch to the dining ambience. (See my video 🎥) Cutleries🍴were clean 🧼, place was clean 🫧, tables all wiped down and no greasy stains could be seen. 👀 Very mindful and great effort. 😇
Food : Ok this is wild man…… 🤯 You could of course order the usual Hamburger 🍔 + Steak 🥩but were ordered exactly what we saw in the IG / Tik Tok Video : Kobe Beef 🥩Cheese 🧀 Burger 🍔 and oh man 🤭, no regrets 😎! This is Kobe Beef being prepared into a patty, then flame 🔥 grilled to perfection. Juicy, flavorful and the melted cheese just overwhelms your senses 💥🤯💥🤯! You almost wanna “suck” the burger to extract all the goodness! (I know it’s crazy and I’m not paid for writing this) Although, some in my group did feel that the cheese was a little too much? Well, it was ok for me.
What ALL of us didn’t agree to do was……. Cracked the Quail Egg 🐣that was given. You are supposed to crack open the Quail Egg with the special Quail Egg Scissor ✂️(see my pic 📸), then have it either poured over the burger 🍔 raw or mixed in with the teriyaki sauce for you to dip. Errr we skipped this. What we also really like are the gloves 🧤that were given. It was messy and the gloves did us a favor by keeping everything more manageable.
Overall, an Epic Burger Joint serving Epic Kobe Beef Burger‼️ That was some heart 💓 stopping ✋action and we will love 😍 to give it another go in the near future. So, if you are in Tokyo 🇯🇵 and have been considering it, I think with all honesty, you should just DO...

However, the bathroom is a major issue. It's unclean, with stained fixtures and flies. The hand dryer is awkwardly placed directly above the sink, splashing water everywhere when activated. Plus, a pack of hand towels sits right on top of the dryer. Clearly, cleanliness and design here need significant improvement.
I stopped by around noon with no wait and only a few other customers.
I ordered the Goku Burger with fries for JPY 2915. The burger comes with a unique, savory in-house sauce (tasting of onion and a hint of garlic) served in a shallow pan, perfect for dipping the accompanying V-cut fries. The burger itself features two thin, medium-to-well patties (not smash), generously oozing with melted cheese and topped with an egg, a crispy lettuce leaf, and a slice of tomato, all held together with a knife. Nitrile gloves are provided, which seem more like a gimmick for Instagram than a practical solution compared to traditional burger bags. The burger is tender and soft, and while a bit unwieldy, you can bite through all the layers. The bun can get a little soggy from the fillings but generally holds up. Dipping the burger in the special sauce, as suggested by the server, genuinely enhances the experience, adding much-needed moisture and a savory onion kick to what could otherwise be a slightly dry patty.
The price is a bit steep, but I left completely full and satisfied. I wouldn't recommend this spot for a date unless you're both prepared...

When you enter the restaurant, you will be greated by a modern and stylish restaurant inspired by Western burger restaurants. After reviewing the menu, I could have gone with their signature Goku Burger but decided to go for the God Cheese Burger which is essentially 3 burger patties with 2 kinds of cheese (red cheddar and white cheese) on each patty.
When my order arrived, I was not prepared for how big the burger was. The first thing I noticed was the burger patties were thick and huge compared to the burgers of North America. The burger was so heavy that the knife in the middle began to slide down. They also provided you with gloves to use when eating the burger as they know it was going to be a messy battle. The burger was indeed GODLY as the patties were extremely juicy, tender and delicious which is a testement to the quality of Japanese beef and the cooking technique of a stone oven! The cheese they used really complemented the beef patties really well and the curry sause on the side adds a subtle spice to your burger eating experience. The fries were delicious but served in a small batch which makes sense as you will be full from the amount of meat provided.
Overall, a worthwhile experience if you want to shake things up on your Japan itinerary as in my opinion it elevates the typical burger...
