fair warning: crude comment incoming. this is by far the shittiest place i’ve ever had the misfortune of eating at. Here’s my personal experience: so we show up, there’s a waiting line inside on the seats, but a few free sitting places in said line. Waitresses stands in our way, no welcome, sorry you’ll need to wait, if you don’t mind etc... word for word : “wait outside” is all she said, and almost start yelling at the other people next to us. Scorching heat at midday... ok... our turn comes, we said that we are four. other waitress takes us to three seats squeezed in a corner. i remind her that we’re four (politely mind you), she rolls her eyes, nods to a chair nearby, gives us three napkins (we’re four, damnit). After terribly greasy tempuras, and tasteless tiny sushis, i ask for more napkins, the waitress sighs and makes an upset face and gives me three more... i was afraid to ask for water. To make matters worse, the only part with ac (in the scorching heat) are the three tables on the side, and none over all the other counter seats. No, they didn’t misunderstand anything as they spoke reasonably well english.
So : very expensive for a fast-food kind of sushi place (so many other places far superior and cheaper), very rude personnel, cramped place, crappy service... my wife jokingly said that was probably why this was the least crowded place in the area despite the thousands of people looking for a place to have lunch. Do yourself a favor,...

After a visit to the Ota Museum and a walk through of the Oriental Bazaar (sadly, much decreased in size and offerings), I almost always stop for a late lunch at Heiroku Sushi. They are one of the few chains that usually have Sakura/Basashi raw horse meat sushi. Very tasty. A few years ago they served フォアグラ foie gras sushi. Sadly that menu item has been absent of late. They also offer five kinds of tuna-toro, chutoro, akami, aburi & tataki (fatty, medium fatty, red, grilled & minced). They serve chilled Urakasumi Nihonshu (sake). This establishment remains one of my favorite locations for lunch after visiting the Ota Memorial Ukiyo-e Museum. The inclusion of raw horse sushi is a bit rare these days although sushi restaurants seem to be expanding their cooked side dishes (tempura, cooked beef options, etc.). An interesting special offering this past January was 金華トロいわし (kinka toro iwashi) fatty sardine. ...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I gave this place a try as we couldnt find anywhere else to eat around this area. I wish we hadnt!! The service is horrible, noone comes to your table to take your drink order or whatsoever. They definetely need more staff. The food was below average. Then came the worst part of our experience. When we approached the waitress to pay the bill, she told us that it is cash only. I mean which restaurant in this current century does cash only? And if you are going to do cash only, at least inform us before we actually sit down! Because it was sunday we couldnt exchange our money to japanese yen, and the atms around the area didnt accept our international card. My boyfriend had to walk an hour to find a money exchange place. And the waitress kept rolling her eyes at us which was very irritating. Anyways in summary I wouldnt reccomend this place to anyone. There are many nice places to go nearby like...
