Staff were friendly, however pricing was not very transparent
Pros: My nail tech was very friendly and attentive (Kaori Nakagawa) No issues with communication as they use a translation app Nail design was what I wanted!
Cons: pricing not transparent at start (nail charms and art costs extra ranging from 200¥ to 1000¥ each) Foreigners unable to make appointments in advance
Recommended for: people who want to try complex nail art designs (characters, lots of bling bling etc)
Not recommended for: simple designs (does not seem worth the cost - many salons in Tokyo offer much cheaper pricing)
Review: I had a lovely experience with Kaori at this salon! She was super attentive and very accommodating with the language barrier. We used a translation app and had minimal difficulties communicating. Overall, I think she did an amazing job and I’m very happy with the design!
However, foreigners are unable to make bookings, so you’ll have to go in person and ask for a slot in the coming days. I had to wait an extra 30min despite coming at their recommended time the next day.
In terms of pricing, Kaori was a trainee and I was charged around 16900 ($175 AUD). This included acrylic lengthening for 10 nails + gel polish + 4 nail decors. I thought this was a bit steep considering the level of my tech (which I wasn’t informed of at the start of the session). I only found out when other techs came over to check her work.
Despite the process being more difficult as a foreigner, it was still a pleasant...

I had high hopes for this salon, but was left super disappointed. While the service was decent, the outcome of the nails was not.
Shaping of the nails was done super quick. My nails are now all different lengths. I had 3 shorter nails and instead of doing extensions to match or cutting the others to match, it was left uneven. The gel is uneven, bumpy, and not fully covered in some areas. The application of the colour is uneven, making some nails darker than others. While the 3d art is impressive, it was rushed at the end and the gel had bubbles after the curing. I saw the artist rush to make the red 3d character and the quality between the yellow one is significant.
If timing was such a big issue, I don't understand why the artist couldn't tell me that in the first place so I can request for something different. I feel like I could have gotten a different design and a better outcome, but instead I am left with uneven, bumpy nails for 14500yen from a...

I chose Cateye nails (+¥350/nail). The color was applied irregularly, the filing was poor, and the cuticles were untreated. In the end I had to pay almost 15,000¥ (95€)! It was the most expensive nail salon I’ve ever been to. Maybe I got scammed because of being a tourist. Also, the nail salon doesn't look like the pictures, it's in a cluttered, narrow back room. The artist herself and all the other customers got long fingernails with special designs and accessories, but such a design was not possible for me, I don't understand why? The cateye nails have become irregular with less effect. No English was spoken. I am very disappointed that I had to experience such a bad experience with no cooperation possible.
I won't...
