Shuttle House Tokyo Ueno — Local services in Tokyo

This is a fantastic store for badminton lovers. The store is full of Yonex branded shoes, apparel, accessories, rackets and shuttles. They have separate large collection for men and women. Since they follow Yonex’s guided pricing, apparel prices were hefty to me, $25-$45 for t-shirts and shorts.

My main purpose to visit the store was to get shuttles. They had the Aerosena 500 in stock which was good enough for training. The tubes were ~$28 which was $8 cheaper than USA. I bought six dozens from the store. The staff member were very friendly and helpful. They also gave me tax return on the purchase right at the counter. They reduced the price by 5%. After bringing them home, I found them to be decent quality. Each birdie lasts about a game to game and half, depending on quality of play.

I liked the store so much. If I am in Tokyo ever again, I’ll surely visit this store again to purchase plenty of badminton...

Please beware of the prices tagged on the receipts during checkout. Check before you leave this store. I bought MIZUNO size 25.5cm worth 9,200 YEN exclusive of tax. But when I got back to my home country, I saw the receipt that I was charged with YONEX 25.5cm worth 11,200 YEN exclusive of tax. This is really disappointing!! Maybe this is their modus operandi, if you are a foreigner since there is no tax. They will also charge you handling fee of 1%.

Small shop packed with badminton gear-shoes bags, clothing, rackets, grips, etc! Look for the sign outside. Staff was helpful. The more you buy the more discounts you get and tax-free. Bring your passport. Kind of hot inside...
