During our trip to Tokyo and Mt. Fuji, we tried several massage places—one in Maihama, where the massage was done in our hotel room, another in the Shibuya-Shinjuku area, and a chiropractic-style massage at a Mt. Fuji resort that had a designated massage area inside the hotel. While these were decent, they were pricey and didn’t really target the areas we needed.

Then we found Asakusa Relaxation, just a short walk from our hotel in Asakusa, and it turned out to be the best massage experience we had—not just in Asakusa, but in all of Tokyo, if not the entire Japan. Initially, the proximity to our hotel was a big factor in choosing it, but honestly, even if we had been staying in Maihama or Shibuya-Shinjuku, we wouldn’t have minded taking a 20 to 30-minute GoTaxi ride just to get a massage here. That’s how incredible the experience was!

Eva, the owner, is incredibly kind and attentive. The place is cozy, clean, and far more affordable than the other spots we tried. We both got a full-body oil massage, and it was absolutely amazing—relaxing but still effective at hitting all the right points.

What really stood out was Eva’s genuine care. On Friday, I had a cough, and she thoughtfully gave me a menthol candy. When we came back on Sunday, she remembered and asked how I was feeling. That kind of personal touch is so rare and made us feel incredibly valued.

You can pay with a credit card (there’s a 500 yen surcharge), and while tipping isn’t common in Japan, I highly recommend it. I left 1,000 yen, and Eva was so appreciative.

We only went twice—Friday and Sunday—but both experiences were exceptional. If you’re in Asakusa, this is a must-visit spot for relaxation. It’s truly a hidden gem and hands-down the best massage we’ve...

The ladies here are incredibly good at what they do. I came with my husband after a few days of visiting Tokyo and we needed a good massage! The masseuse had my body twisted and stretched in ways I never knew it could. She cracked all the tension out of my body. She used very good pressure where it hurt so good, just the way I like it. The knots in my body went to oblivion. They stood no chance. I’m sure she could adjust the pressure if you wanted but it was perfect for me. She gave us tea and biscuits in the end. Very kind ladies who speak English for us foreigners. I contacted them via Line based off info from their website to check for availability and they were able to take me in...

After walking 20k steps for three days straight, I needed to find a massage parlor ASAP. While searching for one, I stumbled upon this place. Seeing the great reviews, I knew I had to come in.

I was greeted by Eva, the owner of the place. She offered either hot or cold tea and some sweets as was finishing up her current patron. I was surprised that she spoke english, as I didn’t speak a lick of japanese.

The menu is simple, oil massage or thai massage. The third option is a relaxation course which is a combination of oil and thai massage, which I recommend, since the herbal ball is included in.

I went twice over the course of a week and wish to come back when I return to Japan....
