Glamping Tokyo Asakusa — Hotel in Tokyo

This is definitely glamping in terms of the hostel experience!

Wow what a nicely themed hostel. The common area on each floor is cute! And makes you feel right at home. The staff are friendly and all the more willing to help answer your questions. Definitely ask them about food/location recs!

There's a shower room downstairs, with washer/dryer unit combo that does the job well. Very fairly priced too, so bonus points there.

Front desk has some free goodies like tea, coffee packets, or hygenie essentials.

If you need to leave your luggage after check out for a few hours, there's a small fee. But it's marginal and totally understandable.

Walls are thin though. You can hear people open and close doors to access the common wash room section. So future travelers, please be mindful of your neighbors.

We booked a private room so I don't have any feedback about the shared dorms. However the private rooms were nice. Decent amount of space. But it can quickly get crowded if you have alot of luggage with you.

Location

The hostel takes a while to walk too if you're getting off the main asakusa line. Other than that, the location is quite nice. You have the temples nearby, and Tokyo sky tree right across the bridge! There's also a restraint attached to the front of this hostel. While I didn't have the chance to try it, the menu looked tasty.

Update: There was a very nice lady in the reception this morning who was apologetic about last night & paid the money back. We appreciate that!

I am so upset with the service at this hostel. I was here in the morning but before it was possible to check in so I went out for the day & said I’d come back at night. As this hostel is placed far away from the main bit, I knew I wasnt gonna be here till late and asked for the latest check in time. It was 23 & I planned to be back 22.45 but because of the trains, I arrived 23.04. I called in advance to let them know I was running as fast as possible, they just said okay. When I get there, I have to pay 1000 for a late check in fee? He started discussing with me that I manage my own time & that there’s no difference between being 2 & 6 minutes late and that this is how it works in Japan. However, I’ve been to many hostels now & have never experienced anyone being that strict about it, especially knowing I called in advance letting them know I was rushing. They could have then atleast said “well no stress, you’re gonna pay anyway”. Very...

Room: The room we were in was actually made for 3 adults, but with our group of 6, we managed to make do with what was there & ended up with just enough space between the 6 of us. From what I could tell from my friends, they had a relatively comfortable experience sleeping in the rooms (especially using the beanbags as pillows). The bathrooms were surprisingly spacious as well. The tent in the room was also kinda neat.

Service: The staff can speak English (so relatively foreigner safe) & are pretty friendly overall. As far as service is concerned, garbage disposal can be requested (to empty out bins if they fill up too much) & the first floor reception area provides access to instant coffee & tea in the mornings if you need it.

Location: This is literally a couple minute walk to a pretty big shopping district in Asakusa (which has a Don Quixote, Uni-Qlo nearby). To Sensoji temple is about 5-8 minutes walk. For those looking to travel elsewhere, the Tsukuba Express Asakusa station is around a 5-8 minute walk & Asakusa Station itself is less than 10...
