ZARA — Local services in Tokyo

Terrible experience in this shop, I do not understand why the management of this shop is so chaotic without sufficient number of trained faculties. Even I am able to speak Japanese yet they kept changing languages during the services and that just makes things complicated. The fitting room was not clear and I had forced to use the 1st floor even I had the permission at the underground, even there is no sign showing it is gender based. The cashier was another disaster, the female faculty insist asking for my phone number which is definitely not necessary for check out and for some reason she gave me a huge marker to put a sign on the back of my credit card or l would not be able to use, which had been used for more than a year. I visited the ZARA Shinjuku store today and was extremely disappointed with the customer service. The female staff at the counter, wearing a mask and with her hair tied back, was visibly unfriendly —she glared at customers and interacted with me in an extremely dismissive and disrespectful manner.

At first, I spoke in Japanese, but she responded in a way that felt mocking or condescending. Once I switched to English, her tone and attitude changed completely and became polite. This inconsistency based on language is unacceptable and unprofessional.

I ended up purchasing the item because this is the only ZARA location nearby, but if I had another option, I would’ve gone to a different store. Please take customer service more seriously—your attitude matters just as much as...

Unpleasant experience when we visited Zara Shinjuku. Except for a kind English speaking (foreigner) staff who is really helpful and polite when we needed help to check on the receipt and purchases, the cashier and the staff handling the fitting room are extremely rude. Cashier: Just said NO to everything. Did not bother to explain or even use Google translate (when I made the effort to use google translate to communicate) to clarify.
