The Tokyo Shinjuku Lions Club sponsored the lion’s placement and continues to maintain it. If you’d like to pitch in too, there’s a hole in the lion’s mouth is for donations. Though not nearly as famous as the JR Shibuya Station’s Hachiko Square, the Shinjuku Lion Square also acts as a place to meet up with friends amid the crowds.
