As a traveler from the USA, I've been to this Zoff 3 different times, got 3 different pairs of glasses, and have always had excellent service.
The staff is extremely English-speaking foreigner friendly. All the staff I interacted with were able to speak at least a little English. Even if a staff member doesn't speak fluent English, they carry around a device to help translate.
The process is simple: pick a frame, get a free same-day eye exam (or they will check your current prescription using the glasses you're wearing), pick if you want any add-ons like color or blue light filter, and then come back to get your glasses.
As long as you just need basic prescription glasses and the frame is in stock, it usually takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to get your glasses. You can also add up to 33% blue light filter and get the glasses same day. If you need specific things like astigmatism-correcting lenses, 50% blue light filter, or colored lenses, it can take up to 10 days for the specific lenses to come in.
The glasses are also extremely affordable. The cheapest frames are roughly $50 with the most expensive frames being roughly $80 as of June 2025. Add-ons like colored lenses and blue light filter cost extra. I even got a free microfiber cloth and carrying case.
On one of the occasions, I think my order was forgotten, but then one of the staff members noticed I was just waiting in the waiting room, and checked up on me. After that, she got the work done in less than 10 minutes and I was on my way.
I wish I got the names of all the staff members who helped me so I could mention them here, but here's a photo I took of us on my most recent trip. It's one thing to have good service but it's another thing entirely to have a friendly team, and this Zoff has both.
Needless to say, as an American citizen, the service I got from Zoff in 1 day would take the American healthcare system about 7-10 days, would have required an appointment for the eye exam, and would likely have cost me significantly more than $60.
Highly recommend the Zoff in Harajuku. I'll be going back there if I need any glasses in the future (assuming I'm able to go back...
Read moreAmazing customer service. I came back here to pick up my glasses. First of all, do you know that their blue light blocking glasses cost 0 yen? Jins you have to pay EXTRA YEN, at least a minimum of 3,300 yen. So when I came back to pick up my new pair of glasses, I discovered that the lens they put in my frame only blocked 30% blue light and not what I asked for, which is 50%. I was a bit surprised but didn't show any negative or whatsoever but the staff noticed my uncertainty and asked if they gave me the wrong lens. I didn't even want to do anything because I was already very happy with the service. I told him the truth and he was kind enough to offer to change it at no extra charge. It only took less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend them!
I have a very bad negative experience at Jins Atre Ebisu and Zoff has been the complete...
Read moreYesterday, after a pleasant shopping experience at Zoff Ginza, we went to the Harajuku branch. The woman who assisted our family provided the worst customer service we've experienced in Japan. The registration process was difficult, and during the eye examination, she seemed tired and unwilling, ultimately telling me that a diagnosis was impossible. Despite multiple requests, she refused. Her attitude throughout was really unpleasant, but I tried to understand. Then came my father's turn, and within less than a minute, she declared his examination impossible as well. It felt intentionally disrespectful, especially given how quickly she dismissed my father. Only after I complained to another staff member did she finally start using a translator and properly assist us. After today's experience, I don't plan to...
