Dining at Kopiloco by 1993 is a delightful experience that transports you to the heart of Malaysian flavors. As you enter the cozy café, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, enticing your senses. You take a seat and browse through the menu, finally deciding on a selection of dishes that promise to satisfy your cravings.
The first dish to arrive is the Roti Bakar Kaya, a classic Malaysian breakfast staple. As the plate is set before you, you are greeted by a golden slice of toasted bread, perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The bread is generously slathered with kaya, a creamy coconut and pandan jam that adds a delicate sweetness. With each bite, the combination of the warm, buttery bread and the rich, aromatic kaya spreads happiness through your palate.
Next up is the Roti Telur Mayo, a unique twist on a traditional roti dish. This delightful creation features a fluffy roti canai stuffed with a savory filling of eggs and mayo. The roti is skillfully prepared, layered and cooked to perfection, resulting in a light and flaky texture. As you take a bite, the creamy eggs and mayo filling meld with the buttery roti, creating a delightful harmony of flavors that satisfies both your cravings for comfort food and your taste for something new.
For the main course, you've opted for the Nasi Goreng Kampung, a beloved Malaysian fried rice dish. This aromatic creation is a medley of flavors and textures. Fragrant rice is stir-fried with a mix of fresh vegetables, succulent pieces of chicken or shrimp, and a blend of spices and sauces that lend it a distinctive umami taste. The dish is garnished with crispy fried shallots and fresh herbs, adding a delightful crunch and a burst of freshness to every mouthful. Each bite of this comforting and flavorful fried rice takes you on a journey through the rustic flavors of the Malaysian countryside.
To complete your dining experience, you savor a cup of Kopiloco, the café's signature coffee blend. As you lift the cup to your lips, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills your senses. The coffee is smooth, rich, and full-bodied, with a hint of nuttiness. Whether you prefer it black or with a dash of milk, each sip offers a delightful warmth that is both comforting and invigorating. The Kopiloco perfectly complements the flavors of the dishes, leaving you with a satisfying and well-rounded culinary experience.

Read moreOrdered their laksa & signature ice kopiloco, and did takeaways for CurryPuff and Rojak.
Food-wise, I was quite disappointed. For their laksa, the soup and noodles were good. However, when I finally took a bite of the shrimp, I had a huge shock of how not fresh it was, where it was very mushy. My experience there was all good until I tasted the prawn.
Kopiloco: I liked it, it is quite thick and fragrant for me Takeaway CurryPuff: Too expensive for its taste and size, definitely a regretful buy Takeaway Rojak: Average
The environment was quite comfortable with air-con, and it was not crowded as I was there around 5-6pm on a random Monday.
In terms of their service, I'd say it is average. The foreign workers were diligent but it is not the same as some other places with locals welcoming you. I am not judging because of their ethnicity but locals ofc will be more on point when it comes to servicing the fellow locals.
Price-wise, given their portion, laksa and kopiloco were worth it while rojak and curry puff were not.
In general, I would say that I am quite disappointed given their positive reviews but it does still have its merits. I will give it another shot for their nasi lemak, it might not be a fair judge with...
Read moreService was bad. A lot of crew walking around but nobody showed us the way in. Walked in ourselves and sat at a table, wrote down order on paper but nobody came to collect from me. I walked to the cashier with the order paper and was "greeted" by angry cashier crew. Took my paper and threw to the side and said "pay later" like I owe them million RM. All the while there were 5-6 crew walking around the place but nobody showed or served us. Like I know what to do like that. Toast came, cold and dry. Eggs came, warm. Salted egg French toast was ok but next door's better. Mee goreng was next and too spicy like the chef want to take revenge for something I did not do. Asked about our forgotten coffee halfway thru the meal and finally served after our food. Hello, this is nanyang coffee, supposed to drink and eat with meal right? Not english black to be served end of meal, correct? The management needs to do something before things get worse. Finally went to pay at the "owed million RM" cashier and was greeted with return vouchers. Wanted to give back the vouchers to signal I am not coming back the 2nd time but held myself. My opinion, I rather go queue next door. Out the shop entrance turn right, join the queue for better service,...
