2nd time Visit: 15-Aug RM68.10 for 2 Main foods and 1 desserts. Foods are good, but our dessert written serve later (20mins), even after chasing the dessert, end up serve after 40mins. Really bad. 2 persons for RM65.75 -inclusive of 16% tax (2 main dishes & 1 dessert) 1. Longan Sea Coconut Dessert - RM12.90 - They are many ingredients in the sweet soup, although slightly sweet, but with all those ingredients like Longan, White fungus, red dates and etc, make the soup very fulfilling. 2. Nasi Lemak Rendang Beef - RM24.90 - The nasi Lemak comes with a lot anchovies and peanuts, the Rendang beef with mid-sized portion, and the porch egg comes with 3/4 boiled which is special. 3. Char Kuey Teow - RM18.90 - Comes with 2 mid-sized prawn, the prawns are fresh too. Their CKT really has its own special taste, and full of Wok Hei. Environment: It is comfortable and we been assigned for a big table by coincidence just for 2 persons. Service: Not so satisfied with the one of the staff, when took our order, he asked us whether want to serve the sweet soup or not? (But his voice was unclear and vague), then we were asking to repeat, and he showed his unsatisfactory face and with rude voice. Actually this is my 1st time drop by Oriental, after many rounds of passing by. But facing this kind of service, and with the high price given, which really made me feel disappointed and the reason to rate 3 stars. Even their food is good. Whether will visit again in future, hmmm, let’s see how. Still have many other good choices out there with same price, but better customer experience and food variance.

[ok la] 1) Overall - Malaysian style coffee shop, spacious seating but do expect queue most of the time, fast service and ok cleanliness, plenty of food to choose from such as egg tart, nasi lemak, polo bun, mee siam, white coffee, kaya toast, mee hoon, rojak, chicken hor fun and many more from Oriental Kopi 华阳 @ Sunway Pyramid 2) egg tarts - ultra thick egg tarts, flaky layered skin with the thick and creamy egg mixture, silky smooth and eggy paired with the crispy skin, it was heaven 3) ipoh chicken hor fun - tasted ok, soup a little bland, prawn was tasteless 4) curry chicken with rice - thick and creamy, not as spicy, tasted ok 5) mee siam with fried chicken - fried chicken was marinated with lemongrass, so it was very aromatic, mee siam was tasty 6) black kopi with butter - something special but tasted not bad 7) nasi lemak with spiced chicken - spiced chicken was flavourful and tender, sambal was semi-sweet spicy, egg yolk was still runny so it was perfect for the super fragrant coconut rice, loved the taste and texture, highly recommended 8) curry mee - thick and creamy, not as spicy, big portion, tasted good 9) polo bun - tasted ok, a little overrated, polo bun was a little dry 10) dry pan mee - noodle was soft but chewy, top off with various condiments such as fish paste, fish balls, shredded chicken, ikan bilis, scallion, vege and a runny eggs, tasted good 11) Hainanese chicken rice - chili sauce was the highlight of the dish, overall was ok

Look. As an Ipoh guy, it fascinates me how every Oriental Kopi outlet I go to (or pass by) is packed to the brim, with a line of customers outside, including a separate line for their egg tarts. Customers will line up before opening time just to get a table. But as any foodie will tell you. Lines = good food. Cleanliness is good, seats are comfortable and decor is pleasant. Best of all service is quick and efficient, despite the crowd. In other words this kopitiam has all cylinders firing. The first thing served to me was a mis-step. The iced coffee was too milky and sweet, while the coffee itself wasn't thick or fragrant enough. I'm spoilt, but I come from the land of white coffee, where the bar is raised yay high. Maybe KLians prefer their coffee this way? That said though, everything else are hits. Polo bun is soft in the centre and buttery on the outside, kaya butter toast is sinfully indulgent (check out the thicc slab of butter), prawn mee has a terrific stock, and best of all the char koay teow is a sensation of texture, colour, flavour and good wok hei. Can't ask for more. We were so chuffed with the meal we took away some egg tarts too. The crust is buttery and flaky with a wonderful aroma, but the filling is too, well, filling. Maybe a tad too heavy for me. But all in all, well done. The hype is justified for Oriental Kopi. You'll see me waiting in line, just not for the coffee lol.
