How the mighty have fallen.
What used to be a guaranteed great dining experience is now struggling just to be mediocre.
We went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was relatively empty. A few staff saw us standing outside but no one bothered to acknowledge us including the manager. More on him later.
Finally we were attended to and we asked for a table for 7. After a look of shock, the greeter spoke to the manager who told him to seat us at 2 separate tables. This despite the fact that there were clearly empty tables at the back. When we asked about it, we were told that they were reserved. Then we asked the manager who said the section was closed. So clearly someone didn't want to clean up an extra section. So we agreed to wait for another table to finish and we took over.
When the food finally arrived, there was no care given to who ordered what. Everything was just left at the edge of the table.
Which brings me to the manager. Its clear where the staff get their apathy from. He is the difinition of someone trying to look busy withoit acyually doing anything. All he did was walk around avoiding eye contact with his customers. No checking in on his guests, chasing down his staff etc. Just a dude who clearly wanted to close and go do whatever it is he had planned.
Its sad, it really is that this is what customer service has fallen to. I hope this is not what TGIF stands for now but i definitely will not be visiting this particular...
Read moreThis place is very family friendly and suitable for birthday meals. You will get a lava cake and the team will sing the birthday person a song. Generally, their food are good. Normally I would go for the steaks. Burgers are not bad. Also, the vibe you get here is very comfortable with good music and friendly waiters. I only have 1 complaint about the contact less menu. Pages sometimes can not be seen. Also, defeats the purpose, does not look as professional as their previous physical menu's and you can't even order from it. Why would you actually have this online but not allow you to order too. With that said, not a big fan of these contactless menus and order systems.
The experience was mixed experience for me this time round. Could be due to the election day promotion on the burgers, so the kitchen had a lot of burger orders. The quality may have dipped a little. 2 out of 6 burger patties were a little burnt. However, I must say that the manager and the team here are very professional and responsible, finds a solution immediately and rectifies it. Mistakes happen so perhaps this could be a one time thing. Past experiences have been great.

Read moreWe just ordered TGIF on 3 July 2021, because they had a promotion buy 1 get 1 all steaks on their official site and instagram. We ordered Fridays Signature Steak and Peppercorn Striploin Steak. First issue, our ordered got delayed as we expect the ETA around 11.00 - 11.30 am, but the driver arrived at 11.40, I cabnot accept this because the distance is not too far (16km) especialy during EMCO and the driver pickup the food at 10.40 can be seen on the log. The second issue, they do not do a proper packaging. Howcome they just used a sterefoam type for a steak that has juice on it, eventhough the sauce they put it in small plastic cup, I attached the picture how messy they are as the the liquid leaking from the sterofoam and torn the wrapping bag. Third issue, was the taste itself, many people recommend TGIF steak is one of the best steak in town. Humbly saying, this is not reach our expectation, the steak is so dry, the flavor is not blend well. The meat itself not tender and expect a bit chewy at some point. The side dish is rubbish to me. You can agree or disagree with my comments, I don't care..It's just dissapointed with the price tag they put...
