First, be careful when reading reviews for this place. There are other hotels by this name in other countries, and I think there has been some confusion with photos.||||Several of the staff at Dos Mares, were very nice, so it is awkward to write a negative review. I think this property is very poorly maintained and is full of danger. I stayed only two nights on a seven night reservation. I fell once, and felt surrounded by dangers. There were uncovered electrical boxes and wires running across the patio floor. I sat in one of the wicker patio chairs and the bottom fell out. I have never seen so many elevation changes on a property. Step up, step down, everywhere. They do serve a pretty nice buffet breakfast, but the concrete floor near the eggs is very slippery concrete and has a very steep slope. I fell here, and I'm lucky that I didn't break my arm. They knew it was slippery. There was non slip tape on the surface, but it had worn off long ago.||||The location is pretty good, but I think this is a great example of old Mexican hotel style going without proper maintenance. I hope I get a partial refund, but at least I got away without serious injury.||||I think only about 1/2 of the staff speak...
Read moreWorst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’m fairly certain it’s a scam. One of the reasons we booked it was because it had a pool and parking. When we got there was no was no parking due to construction and the pool was in such bad shape you couldn’t see the bottom. My room was in an alley next to the street. There are no windows or egress, which is actually illegal. The water pressure was so bad I couldn’t take a shower and there was a sewage smell coming from the drains that permeated the room. There were no blankets on the TV didn’t work. My friend room was in the main part of the hotel on the back, and he had a sliding door, but his room was in just as bad shape. There’s also no Wi-Fi in the rooms or cell service.
Management, stop replying with apologies. It doesn’t mean anything. I wanted to write this review to help other people avoid the same mistake. The pictures you see online are old, and it doesn’t even look like the same place. Essentially a bait and switch. It looks like they may be buying fake reviews as well because the pictures those people are posting are not of the actual hotel, or the pool. These people should be held...
