We booked the sunset cruise with taco bar and open bar drinks with our resort hotel. The driver picked us up 10 mins late for a 4pm pickup time and we arrived at the port at 5pm sharp. We assumed we would get straight to the boat but was told to wait until 5:15pm. Boarding begun at 5:25 and we were setting sail by 6pm. The staff on the boat was incredible and they began taking pics of us all for purchase later. It’s $15 for one pic and $30 for all the pics. The tacos were amazing but the rum punch and margaritas tasted water down and not premium liquor. One staff did come around offering Tequilla shots but I declined. We got great views despite choppy waters but when we exited boat about 7:30 it appeared to be disorganized. By this time it was dark and the staff was holding signs with numbers on it. We were so confused. I asked for my hotel and they pointed me in one direction with a different driver until one of the bus riders I was with grabbed me to come with them. He said our initial driver was over there. I haven’t slept all night worrying about the what would have happened if I went with that other guy? It was just me and my dgtr. I think they should communicate a little better on pickup that you should look for your initial driver at the end. We had to walk a good distance through the dark to get to our bus. Maybe a google translate to bus guest at the beginning if she/he doesn’t know how to say it in English or a...
Read moreThe Pez Gato Whale Watching tour was EXCELLENT. We took the 9 am tour on Feb 21, 2018. The crew was so friendly and helpful. They helped us on board then immediately offered us drinks (open bar!) and fruit/snacks. Throughout the cruise, they offered to take pictures, offered drinks and just generally made sure we were comfortable and happy. Five, no ten!, stars to the crew. The boat was the perfect size and in great condition. Not so small that we were overwhelmed by the big boats but not so small as to be terrifying in big waves. We enjoyed sitting out on the netting between the catamaran legs (don't know what they are called). The captain was an expert at maneuvering the boat in the small spaces near the arches and between the enormous whale watching boats. The tour guide was entertaining and informative. And best of all, they seemed to really care for the whales. Some of the other boats, both huge and small, drove so close to the whales they were practically on top of them. It was scary to watch! The Pez Gato crew got us close enough to get a great view but stayed a respectful and safe distance. We got lucky and saw a TON of whales, including a baby that leapt and breached about a million times. But whales aside, Pez Gato was an excellent tour. We will 100% go again and...
Read moreBooked the CaboMar dinner cruise through our hotel. We were a little apprehensive because a) a party cruise is not our normal scene and b) heard some negative stories about tourists being harassed at the docks. Well the latter is true: lots of random people attempting to soak you and/or sell you drugs at the docks. But this is no way a reflection of the PezGato operation. They picked us up at our hotel and got us safely there and back. They loaded 80-100 of us on the boat and immediately started pouring strong drinks for everyone. The MC gave us all important safety details, local landmark ID, whale sightings, and hella energetic party shout outs when the sun set. The entire crew was pinpoint focused on pouring drinks, serving dinner (and snacks), and operating a safe tour. The dancing started about 10 minutes after we spotted whales breeching about 200 feet away and never really stopped until we disembarked....
