I am writing about my experience at the Mecca store from my visit yesterday. Where should I begin? I have been a regular customer at Mecca, as evident from my profile that showcases the extent of my purchases. The primary reason I usually choose Mecca over Sephora, or any other store in Auckland is due to the excellent service they provide, as well as the warm atmosphere they create for customers. However, my last visit was a terrible experience, and it ranks among the worst encounters I've had since I started shopping at Mecca five years ago in New Zealand. During this visit, it felt as though I was being ignored, and it seemed like the staff had no interest in providing the usual level of service that I've come to expect. Their behavior made it seem as though they were racially biased, and their interactions lacked the usual friendliness and engagement. Instead, they stood there like lifeless statues, devoid of any enthusiasm. This experience is unlike any other I've witnessed during my time in New Zealand. The reason I frequent Mecca is because it uplifts my mood and makes me feel good, largely due to the dedicated staff and the exceptional service they provide, including their fashion recommendations and discussions about products. Even the cashier I encountered yesterday was absolutely terrible. When I inquired about her opinion on a product, she responded with uncertainty, saying she had neither used nor seen anyone purchase it before. Her lack of knowledge and enthusiasm were apparent, as she made no effort to promote the product or engage in any meaningful conversation about it. This disappointing encounter has left me reconsidering whether I want to continue...
Read moreCustomer profiling by sales staff. I went in to purchase charlotte. I approached a red haired lady to show me where it was. She withheld the products from me, and when I asked her if I could hold them to see she said “no”. She told me I can just look. And if wanted to test them I can go test them in another section but I couldn’t hold the packaging and look at what I wanted. I didn’t want to test anything as I was short on time, I just wanted a closer look. This was the stupidest and very rude lady you could have on service. I was had on a $300 bag, gold earrings, iPhone, converse shoes and AirPods. (Albeit my hair was messy because of the rain) but anyone with a brain would pick up that I have money and am not a homeless shoplifter. Retrain this woman to Look at signs of a person, whether they are actually suspicious or not because she just looked at my messy hair and probably Skin colour to decide I was going to steal. Hopingamagement does something about this. I will email in too, as this was...
Read moreConsistently bad service each time. Thought it was a once off the first time but today really seals that opinion. Walked in without fuss, started looking around for a bronzer and maybe some other beauty products. There were probably about 10 staff working including the ones at the makeup station. I’m usually more than happy to browse and ask for help when need be, but to not have anyone even say hello or can I help you is not particularly good service. Especially when I heard a staff member warmly greet a new customer as she walked in and proceeded to ask if she could help her. I walked around a little bit more whilst trying on some makeup, then I looked over my shoulder and one of the staff members looked at me then proceeded to look away and started shuffling some makeup brushes around. Never have I ever had this type of service at my usual Mecca (Mecca cosmetica Takapuna), the girls are lovely, attentive and polite. Not a...
