Visited this cafe twice (during my first and last days) and I enjoyed their coffee very much which are also reasonably priced! The ambiance is perfect for hanging around or for remote work because they offer free wifi which is a huge plus. 👌

The staff were welcoming during my visits but it’s worth mentioning that the barista came off as condescending to me. 🤔

I asked for a “warm” latte which seems like a simple enough request but the barista asked me if I wanted it “50 or 60 degrees Celsius”. I was caught off guard because I’ve never been asked this question before and there was no reason to be technical about my request. I told him I didn’t know or I wasn’t sure and he proceeded to “mansplain” me and went with the temperature of 50 degrees. 🤷‍♀️

At first, I didn’t mind the encounter when it happened. But looking back at it now, that was a rude gesture. He makes great coffee, no doubt, but I don’t appreciate the attitude. 👎

I also overheard that the other customer asked for milk on the side with their coffee but he made, what seemed like, a latte so the milk was already mixed in. He then made a comment in front of the customer with our native language, “they’re gonna pour the milk into the coffee anyway”. But that was beside the point because the customer wanted to customize their drink to their liking. 🤦

I’ll still consider visiting again the next time I’m in Panglao but will keep an eye out for that barista and bring a thermometer or...

If you’re looking for a cozy, plant-filled retreat with a relaxed vibe, Overgrown Café is the perfect spot. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by an abundance of greenery, making it feel like a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is calm and laid-back, ideal for both unwinding alone or catching up with friends.

We tried the breakfast platter with yogurt, which was more than enough for two people. The platter was beautifully presented, with a delightful mix of fresh fruit, granola, nuts, all served alongside creamy yogurt. It felt wholesome yet indulgent, and the variety of textures and flavors made each bite a little different from the last. It’s clear that Overgrown prioritizes quality, and every ingredient on the platter tasted fresh and thoughtfully curated.

The café itself has a relaxed, inviting ambiance—perfect for enjoying a slow morning. The friendly staff adds to the experience, always ready with a smile and a recommendation if you need one.

Highly recommend if you’re a fan of greenery, good food, and a calm environment. We’ll definitely be back to try more...

I recently visited this cafe, and my experience was quite disappointing. Despite having a limited menu, they couldn't provide the ingredients for my order. To make matters worse, the waitress literally grabbed my toasted sandwich with bare hands to check whether it was the jalapeno sandwich (minus the feta) I'd ordered or the bell pepper sandwich (minus the peppers or feta) my fiance ordered. Given that the waitress had just used her hand to open the filthy, grease-clad door, I find this highly unprofessional. I then had to go back inside and ask for cutlery. The response to this was not the best and almost seemed like too much trouble. I was given a knife....only a knife, which then resulted in me having to ask again for two knives and forks. It seemed fairly obvious given that she had just brought out two dishes to two people sat at the table. Overall, not a pleasant...

New café and bar here in Tawala, Panglao. They are located at a more quiet spot here in alona, away from the chaos and busy streets. The vibe is so chill. You can have a coffee, tea, frappes, and shakes, and at 6 PM, that's when the bar starts. You can start having the alcohol infused coffees and some alcoholic drinks. The place is instagramable and perfect for plant and nature lovers because, as the name implies, the café is decorated with beautiful tropical plants and a variety of cactuses. For the opening, they only served drinks, but soon they will also offer some smoothie bowls, some paninis, and maybe some more special drinks. I can't wait to try them out as well. Overgrown café and bar is definitely my new favourite place to hang and chill out.
