Picerija Briksen — Restaurant in Bled

We had a long day of riding and just wanted something simple for dinner. The pizzeria was on the way to our hotel and had decent reviews, so we stopped by to order takeout. The place was hard to find in the dark and took us a couple of tries to find it. The pizza was an awkward size - too small for two persons but too big for one. So I got one pizza and an order of fried calamari. The order came out pretty quickly which was good. The pizza tasted okay, although the dough was too thick for my liking. The calamari was thickly coated with flour and had a weird texture. I especially disliked that the pieces were lumped and stuck together. But that was not the worst of it. When I asked for catchup for the fries, I was told that I needed to pay for it “because they don’t eat fries with catchup here.” We’ve traveled to 20+ countries in Europe, and this was the first time we were asked to pay for catchup! I know not every restaurant carries catchup and would have been okay if they simply told me they didn’t have it. To charge customers extra for catchup when we already paid 15 euros for a simple order of fried calamari left a very bad taste in a beautiful place like Lake Bled. I wish I had picked another place because some experience cannot be undone or...

Me and my girlfriend loved the place and the setting. :) After a longer walk arround the Lake Bled we decided to have some rest there and we werent wrong.

Although we didnt eat pizza, we ordered coffe and the local specialty, Bledske Kremšnite.

Price of the coffe and the kremšnite was rather decent and any low-end tourist will be able to afford it.

We really like both, but most of all, we liked the kind barthender that served us with a smile on his face.

Since we are from Croatia, the barthender didnt think twice when we he realised it and continued the conversation with us on croatian for what we had great respect.

We loved it and we might return there one day aswell.

There is enough space even for a large group of people do if you plan to go there in a bigger group you can do it...

When we arrived at the place, we were greeted by a friendly staff. The food that we ordered was brought fairly quickly. We ordered 2 pizzas and both were simply delicious! The price was fair for the size of the meal and the service overall. Today we went there again and ordered spaghetti carbonara and sandwich with ham and cheese (which looked like calzone pizza!). Once again the food was delicious and fairly priced. After the main meal we wanted to try the desserts so we ordered a panna cotta (with strawberries) and "hot strawberries with ice cream". This was also very delicious! Would recommend eating...
