Beautiful view from the terrace area for late afternoon/early evening drinks after a wonderful day of exploration around the lake. We stopped in without a reservation and were waiting to be seated only to realize that you just seat yourself? A couple walked in after us and went straight to the table for two closest to the lake view that we were waiting to be cleaned. Perhaps this is how things operate as we've noticed this behavior at two other establishments in the region. No biggie, chalk it up to cultural learning. When we sat ourselves, we ordered a couple of drinks (beer and aperol spritz) and decided to have their traditional cream cake despite having dinner reservations elsewhere shortly after. Definitely worth trying as it was rich, creamy but not too heavy. It was served by a "robot" who carried the dessert to our table. Total cost about 17€ Our server was very friendly and efficient despite being one of very few staff on hand to service so many people. Give that man a raise! Overall, nice time. I wished the people around us weren't smoking so much, perhaps have a smoking vs non smoking section if smoking will be allowed in a restaurant area? They literally lit up every few minutes. We came around 6:30pm on a Monday evening.

Went to this place for the “bled cake” after lunch on May 27th, 2023. The whole place was totally packed, groups of different sizes stood in loose queues waiting to be seated while the inside was completely empty. Waiters, scurrying through the crowd like little elves, told us that inside was closed and we could only sit outside and I really didn’t see the point of it. There appeared to be some sort of order, as one young guy seemed kind of “in charge” and arranged tables for people standing in the queue. But I quickly noticed he was not the only one with power of assignment, and an Indian couple walked in and approached a passing-by waitress, and she immediately led them to a table. Yeah so it’s a bit of a “crying baby gets candy” scenario. After waiting in line for 10-15 minutes, finally I was assigned to a very far away corner table. And another 10 minutes ish waiting, a middle-aged waitress came over, and I was finally able to order. So by now it has already been 20 minutes and I still didn’t get anything. Another 5-8 minute-ish later she brought cake and a pot of tea to my table and quickly walked away. Then I was about to eat my cake, only to find out that she forgot to put any tea bag in the tray. It was just a pot of hot water and 3 bags of sugar (Photo attached). Then I had to wait for another 5-8 minutes ish before she showed up yet again. At this point I had already started to lose patience, but she would have none of my complaints, “it’s just a small mistake, no big deal”. This place was really pretentiously decorated, and all the waiters were well dressed in uniforms. But the organisation was nothing but chaotic, everything took forever to come, and there was only one waiter in each zone, so even if you had some simple issues like she forgot to put in the tea bag, and you waved at other waiters, they would just look at you from a short distance, with a blank facial expression as if you were a ghost or some sort of memory, and then walked away. The whole experience was very irritating. Mind you, the cake cost 6.8 euros and I didn’t check price of the tea, but in total it cost me 10 euros. So absolutely not cheap, but the service and especially the waitress in my zone did not live up to this standard. Not at all. Finally, the cake was really nothing special. If you have time and they are not too busy you could try one. But not worth the time waiting in line to get seated.

I went there after a nice day in Bled and ordered 7 pieces of Cremeschnitte (that's how we call it in Austria) "to go", to share them with my family, and only got 6. I was a little bit suspicious because the waiter gave me a pack which fits 4 slices and another one which fits 2 slices, so I actually asked the waiter again if he gave me 7 and he replied yes and I trusted him, until I arrived back home and only found 6 slices.... They basically stole 5,60€ from me, cause that's how much one slice costs...which is, from a value for money perspective, a little bit overpriced even if it's the supposedly best Cremeschnitte. But I, and the others who got a slice, have to say, that they taste pretty good. As a warning or reminder for everyone who ordes some "to go", check if you got the correct amount. CHEERS

Was really looking forward to this after a 17 km. Lovely view on the lake too. I understand Sundays are busy but no one bothered to say hi nor look at me. I found a table, waited 15 mn to order a plate of cheese and a glass of wine. The wine came, the cheese never did. Another 15 mn and I asked a waiter, adding a slice of Bled cake to the order - it clearly had been forgotten. The cheese was… ok, rather bland. Quite disappointing given the price and the place: I had better in much simpler places the days before! Same for the wine: watery. The cake though was absolutely perfect, cloud like. Paying took another 15 mn. It may have been a bad day - Sundays always are busy in Bled, it’s difficult to find enough to have enough staff this year - but not convinced. Would not go back.

We ordered a cheese & sausage plate and then the Kremšnita as well as a chocolate cake. The cakes were good. The savory plate arrived without cheese. We asked the waitor about it and she said she would ask the kitchen. She avoided us until we asked for the check. When prompted if she talked to the kitchen, she said that a student in the kitchen made a mistake. That's okay, mistakes happen. But when we expected to not pay the full price for only half a dish, she refused and instead got angry. She offered to bring the cheese now - after we were done eating and about to leave, which made no sense at all. She then said that she is just a student, too, and that's when I we got tired of that discussion. It's okay to make mistakes, but it's not okay to make us pay for them.

Original Bled cream cake is a must try! Easy 10/10, would eat it again for sure! The price is pretty high, 6.5€ for one serving, but the quality is non negotiable. Besides from the famous Bled cream cake, the ice cream at this place is one of the best I’ve ever had! As a tough ice cream critic I can say that pistachio is in the top 3 I have ever tried! They have a flavor named “no1 ice cream in the world” which is really nice, creamy, nutty with chocolate and cinnamon, something crunchy and raisins. Very interesting and tasty. The price of a scoop is 2.6€, and for a “no1 ice cream” is 3.7€ per scoop. Reasonably priced considering the quality. Definitely would come back! The prices of beverages are ridiculously high, for example a cup of tea is 4.5€.
