Went to this place for the “bled cake” after lunch on May 27th, 2023. The whole place was totally packed, groups of different sizes stood in loose queues waiting to be seated while the inside was completely empty. Waiters, scurrying through the crowd like little elves, told us that inside was closed and we could only sit outside and I really didn’t see the point of it.
There appeared to be some sort of order, as one young guy seemed kind of “in charge” and arranged tables for people standing in the queue. But I quickly noticed he was not the only one with power of assignment, and an Indian couple walked in and approached a passing-by waitress, and she immediately led them to a table. Yeah so it’s a bit of a “crying baby gets candy” scenario.
After waiting in line for 10-15 minutes, finally I was assigned to a very far away corner table. And another 10 minutes ish waiting, a middle-aged waitress came over, and I was finally able to order. So by now it has already been 20 minutes and I still didn’t get anything. Another 5-8 minute-ish later she brought cake and a pot of tea to my table and quickly walked away.
Then I was about to eat my cake, only to find out that she forgot to put any tea bag in the tray. It was just a pot of hot water and 3 bags of sugar (Photo attached). Then I had to wait for another 5-8 minutes ish before she showed up yet again. At this point I had already started to lose patience, but she would have none of my complaints, “it’s just a small mistake, no big deal”.
This place was really pretentiously decorated, and all the waiters were well dressed in uniforms. But the organisation was nothing but chaotic, everything took forever to come, and there was only one waiter in each zone, so even if you had some simple issues like she forgot to put in the tea bag, and you waved at other waiters, they would just look at you from a short distance, with a blank facial expression as if you were a ghost or some sort of memory, and then walked away. The whole experience was very irritating.
Mind you, the cake cost 6.8 euros and I didn’t check price of the tea, but in total it cost me 10 euros. So absolutely not cheap, but the service and especially the waitress in my zone did not live up to this standard. Not at all. Finally, the cake was really nothing special. If you have time and they are not too busy you could try one. But not worth the time waiting in line...

Yes, the cake is good. But what’s the point of a famous cake when the service makes you regret ever walking in? This was, without exaggeration, the rudest and most unpleasant staff encounter I’ve had anywhere in Europe.
We had simply asked to add more items to our order. Instead of taking it in stride, the waiter snapped, raised his voice, and practically fought with us, saying: “What do you want? I’m already bringing your cake!” As if it’s unreasonable to expect that in a restaurant where almost every table is served the same cake, he might not be bringing ours. His anger was uncalled for, and the tone was hostile from the start.
What made it worse was the complete absence of management. No one stepped in to calm the situation, no one apologized, no one even seemed to care. It was left to us to defend ourselves, to the point where I had to raise my own voice just to make clear that there was no reason for such rudeness.
And this wasn’t even a one-off visit — we were actually staying at the Park property. That makes the indifference and lack of professionalism even more shocking. For a place that trades on its reputation and tourist footfall, you’d expect at least basic courtesy. Instead, we were made to feel like an inconvenience for simply ordering.
Bottom line: the cake may be good, but it’s absolutely not worth putting up with this level of disrespect. Hospitality matters, and here it’s...

We stopped in without a reservation and were waiting to be seated only to realize that you just seat yourself? A couple walked in after us and went straight to the table for two closest to the lake view that we were waiting to be cleaned. Perhaps this is how things operate as we've noticed this behavior at two other establishments in the region. No biggie, chalk it up to cultural learning.
When we sat ourselves, we ordered a couple of drinks (beer and aperol spritz) and decided to have their traditional cream cake despite having dinner reservations elsewhere shortly after. Definitely worth trying as it was rich, creamy but not too heavy. It was served by a "robot" who carried the dessert to our table. Total cost about 17€
Our server was very friendly and efficient despite being one of very few staff on hand to service so many people. Give that man a raise!
Overall, nice time. I wished the people around us weren't smoking so much, perhaps have a smoking vs non smoking section if smoking will be allowed in a restaurant area? They literally lit up every few minutes.
We came around 6:30pm on a...
