Looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Johannesburg? Look no further than Rodzios Grill and Steakhouse in Melrose Arch! Our recent family visit there was an absolute delight, and we can't recommend it highly enough.

A Feast for the Meat Lover Rodzios truly lives up to its name as a "Grill." Their signature offering is the endless parade of perfectly seasoned, rotisserie-grilled meats carved tableside by their friendly Rodizio Gauchos. The meats were incredibly flavorful and cooked to a delightful tenderness. With over a dozen different varieties on offer, there was something to please every palate at our table.

Beyond the Meat While the endless parade of succulent meats is undeniably the star of the show, Rodzios offers so much more. Their award-winning gourmet salad bar was a revelation. Freshly prepared daily, it boasted an incredible variety of salads, vegetables, cheeses, and cured meats. It was the perfect way to balance the richness of the meats and offered something delicious for even the non-meat eaters in our family.

A Taste of Brazil We were also blown away by the selection of authentic Brazilian side dishes. From the melt-in-your-mouth Pão de Queijo (cheese bread) to the hearty Feijoada stew (a Brazilian black bean dish), each side dish added another layer of flavor and cultural exploration to our dining experience.

Sweet Endings No meal is complete without dessert, and Rodzios doesn't disappoint here either. Their menu features a selection of homemade Brazilian desserts, all prepared daily using recipes passed down through generations in the founder's family. It was the perfect way to end a truly special evening.

Food: We had the Meat Rodizio, it was good as a whole, a liiiiiittle on the salty side with some of the meats but overall really good. Good quality and good flavour and not dry! The leg of lamb was to DIE for! 🤤 Value: ... kind of ok, a little disappointing, considering they bring each meat around only once then try to get you to turn your "robot" around and force you to "take a break", for what reason I don't know. Just feels like they're trying to get you to eat less 🤷‍♀️ Service: Definitely dependent on the person who saw to us. The most wonderful man greeted us and had such a great vibe, really 10/10 for that gentleman, never let him go, I'd come back just to interact with him again lol. Our actual waiter was also really nice and friendly, also 10/10, very sweet guy! However, some of the people bringing the meat around really started getting a bit too in your face with jokes and banter. It started to become more annoying and bothersome than anything for some of the guest, unfortunately :( Really awkward and cringe, started making people feel uncomfortable and overall wanting to leave as soon as possible Ambiance: It's a vibe for sure, great vibe! Great music! Great decor! (apparently a fist fight broke out just before we got there though lol) Location: Great Location, easy to find, On Melrose Arch's hottest strip, you can't miss it even if you tried! Toilets: sparkling, fresh and had a really nice aesthetic!

With all that in mind, I'd still go back again though and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting good food and...

Really enjoyed my experience here. This place has it all. Great service, good food, an amazing atmosphere. Food was yummy, I had the all you can eat meat special, not sure if the special is for the whole week, but I ate supper here on a Sunday night. The special consists of 3 course meal-starters: that you share with your table (salad, prawns, calamari, pieces of chicken and a loaf of bread), main meal:all you can eat meat (consist of lam,beef,pork and chicken), and dessert: you have a selection that you can choose from. I have to say the food is very tasty, just some pieces of meat was on the dry side, but was still edible. For the halal options, they do explain that they do not have the license to be an official halal restaurant, as they do serve alcohol and pork, however, their beef, lamb and chicken are halal as they receive it from halal suppliers. The service here was absolutely amazing, very friendly staff ,that is extremely attentive. If we had an issue, they would solve it, if we had a request they would do their best to provide it. 10/10 service honestly. The atmosphere here is great, very well decorated and there are TVs here if you want to watch some sport. There is also a "stage" where you can dance, and the music they played (well when I was there) was great. Would definitely come here again.
