Rich bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Karon

The food was terrible, had no standard, and the service was poor. To make things worse, someone at the next table was smoking. Since we had children with us, the smoke kept drifting over.

I approached a waiter and asked, “Is smoking allowed in the restaurant?” He responded, “Do you want to smoke?”

I said, “No, I just want to know if it’s allowed.” He looked at me firmly and said, “No, it’s not.”

So, I pointed out that someone was smoking. The waiter walked around, saw the person smoking, and then quietly walked away as if he hadn’t noticed anything.

Two minutes later, he came back to my table and said, “That table is allowed to smoke.”

I was speechless. So, the rules depend on who you are?

I’ve visited Thailand many times, traveled to different cities, and even studied Thai in university. I’ve always loved Thailand and its people, considering it my second home. But what happened today was really...

Shockingly bad. The restaurant was very busy which made for a good atmosphere but the rest was downhill.

We had to ask to order drinks and food. The drinks came wrong and were a long time.

We ordered starters but they came 10mins after the rest of the food.

Green curry was bland and the chicken horrible and dry. Pad Thai was okay but again the chicken was far too overcooked. We ordered fresh jumbo shrimp. They totally ruined them by overcooking them. So much so we left some of them as they were that bad.

Constantly through the meal we were brought random dishes that were not ours.

Despite it being so busy the food was terrible. Worst we’ve had so far in Thailand. A tourist trap....

Garlic fried rice and chicken curry (allegedly red) if you are expecting European standards of service this is the wrong restaurant for you ! Basic well cooked food nothing special but very tasty … what do you expect for £4.50 !!! The staff are somewhat Fawlty Towers but that has a charm of its own (I waited five minutes for fork and spoon) although it can be tiresome … ordered red curry got yellow but hey ho such is life … previous review made much about food poisoning how could he possibly know what caused it … this is the tropics it could have been anything he touched anywhere … my advice is wash your hands numpty !!! Ps would be four stars if the right curry...
