Sugar Marina Hotel -SURF- Kata Beach — Hotel in Karon

I stayed for two days from November 26 to 28 at Suga Marina Resort Surf Kata beach.

I checked in at around 9 p.m. on the 26th and asked the reception because there were no trash cans in the bathroom and room.

The receptionist who works at night apologizes and brought me a trash can, and I thought it was just a mistake.

But the problem was from now on.

I took a shower after dinner, but the hot water didn't come out, and the water pressure was too weak, so it took me more than twice as long to wash up.

It was too late to complain, so I went to the reception at 9 a.m. the next day on the 27th, talked to a reception lady who worked in the morning, and I went out to surf the beach.

At 3:30 p.m., I came into the room and the room was not cleaned at all and there was no water in the refrigerator, so I called the front desk and the reception said "do you want cleaning room?"

So I said that I left the sign "Please make up room". So reception replied she would clean it for me.

I was staying at Kata Beach to surf, but every time when I take a shower after surf, it took a long time, so it was so annoying and a waste of time.

When I washed up and went down to the reception, there were no female employees in the morning and only female employees at night, so I said the situation and she said she will check up the situation, and I left the accommodation at 5 p.m. to see the sunset.

When I came back to the accommodation at 7:30, they said they haven't fixed the pressure yet, and it will take time for the technician to come.

When I went out for a massage at 8:30 p.m., I asked when the technician would come, and he said it would take another hour to two hours.

So I told him not to fix it because it's too late.

At 9 a.m., I talked about the inconvenience at the reception, and after 12 hours, the water was not good enough to shower, and I had to wash for two days in a place worse than a public shower, and the young receptionist works night, tried her best to saying very sorry and embarrassed, but no one seemed to help.

But the female employee who works in the morning should apologize to me. When the room was not cleaned, or when there was a problem with the shower, she didn't say sorry and left work without solving it.

Sugar Marina Resort Surf was the last accommodation of my 14-day trip and I ended the trip very unpleasantly.

I doubt that this accommodation is a 4-star hotel.

You gave me a room that was not checked from the beginning, and the glass on the bathroom door was broken, and I assigned a room with warm water and bad water pressure.

You should apologize to me for ruining my trip.

슈가 마리나 리조트 서프 카타비치에서 11월 26일부터 28일까지 이틀 묵었습니다.

26일 저녁 9시경 체크인을 했고 화장실 및 방에 휴지통이 비치되어 있지 않아서 프론트에 문의 했습니다.

밤에 일하는 프론트 여직원은 미안하다고 하며 휴지통을 가져다 주었고 그냥 실수인가 보다 하고 가볍게 넘어갔습니다.

근데 문제는 여기서 부터 입니다. 저는 저녁을 먹고 샤워를 하는데 뜨거운 물이 나오지 않았으며 물의 수압이 너무 약하여 씻는데 시간이 평소보다 2배 이상 걸렸습니다.

너무 늦은 시간이여서 다음날 27일 오전 9시에 프론트에가서 아침에 일하는 프론트 여직원에게 말을 하고 저는 바다로 서핑을 하러 나갔습니다.

오후 3시 30분에 저는 방으로 들어왔고 방은 청소가 아예 되어있지 않고 냉장고에 물 또한 들어 있지 않아서 프론트에 전화해 보니 청소 원하냐는 질문을 들었습니다.

저는 방앞에 있는 푯말을 Please make up room 해놓고 나갔으나 정리가 되어 있지 않았으며 전화를 받은 여자는 저에게 청소를 해주겠다는 답변을 했습니다.

그리고 저는 씻으러 들어갔으나 샤워기는 여전히 수압이 안좋아서 씻는데 오래 걸렸습니다.

저는 서핑을 하려고 카타해변에 머무는 사람이였는데 바다에 들어갔다가 씻을 때마다 시간이 오래 걸리니 너무 짜증나고 시간이 아까웠습니다.

씻고 프론트에 내려가보니 아침에 있는 여직원은 없었고 밤에 있는 여직원만 있어서 사정을 이야기하니 체크해보겠다는 답변을 들었고 저는 선셋을 보러 오후 5시에 숙소에서 떠났습니다.

숙소에 7시 30분에 돌아오니 샤워기를 아직 못 고쳤다고 하였고 기술자가 오는 시간이 걸린다고 하였습니다. 오후 8시 30분에 제가 마사지 받으러 나갈때 기술자 오는 시간이 언제냐고 물으니 1시간에서 2시간은 더 걸린다는 군요.

그래서 제가 너무 늦으니 제가 고치지 말라고 했습니다.

오전 9시 프론트에 불편함을 이야기 했고 12시간이 지나도록 아무런 변화도 없이 물이 졸졸거리며 공중 샤워장보다도 못한 곳에서 저는 이틀간 씻어야했고 밤에 있는 어린 여직원은 무척이나 미안하고 난감해하며 노력했으나 아무도 돕는이가 없는 모양이였습니다.

그러나 아침에 일하는 여직원은 저에게 사과를 해야됩니다. 방이 청소가 안되어있을때도, 샤워기에 문제가 있을때도 그녀는 미안하다는 한마디도 없었고 해결도 해주지않을 채 퇴근을 했습니다.

슈가 마리나 리조트 서프가 14일간 여행의 마지막 숙소였고 저는 아주 불쾌하게 여행을 마쳤습니다.

이 숙소가 별4개의 숙소가 맞는건지 의심이 듭니다.

처음부터 방 체크가 안된 방을 나에게 줬고 화장실 문에 있는 유리도 깨져있었으며 따듯한 물, 수압도 안 좋은 방을 배정했습니다.

Me and my wife recently stayed in the hotel for 10 nights. The hotel is located in a nice quieter area in Phuket which was very accessible to nice bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is themed around surfing which was a nice touch as Kata beach is famous for having people attending for surfing. We found the room to be nice and clean, with no complaints around the cleaning or upkeep of the room. The staff were lovely, very accommodating even going as far with providing complementary drinks and biscuits while we sat by the pool which I thought was a lovely gesture. The only complaint I would have is that I had emailed the hotel to say that it would be me and my wife’s honeymoon as a surprise for her, however when we arrived there did not seem to be anything in place for us. Our balcony was looking onto a half constructed building and did not offer good views, again I would have preferred looking onto the pool.||Overall though it was a lovely, comfortable hotel with a relaxed atmosphere which was easily accessible to all amenities around Kata Beach. The staff were nice and friendly and I would recommend this hotel to any travellers thinking of staying...

Comfortable bed, great location and the staff was very sweet. We got the pleasure of meeting Thandar, who was very inviting and kind. Hotel facilities were nice, room was nice and didn’t have any issues with the cleanness. Pool is quite big and warm and the plants surrounding it create a nice atmosphere. The AC left orange stains on our clothing, im guessing from rusty pipes and the condensation. Freshly received towels were also slightly stained with orange stains, so it was definitely not our own doing. The breakfast was extremely average, with a small range of dishes to choose from, and as a pescatarian, extremely limited options. Would’ve rather saved that money and went to a restaurant. There is also an unfinished building that is a bit of an eyesore behind the pool, but the hotel cannot be blamed for this. Walls are quite thin; we could hear babies crying the entire night.
