I feel quite conflicted writing this review.
I dropped by for a thai massage which cost 350 baht. I was directed to a foot bath and was greeted by a masseuse who watched my feet and directed me upstairs. I was then brought to a table and provided with a set of shorts and a button up shirt. The AC worked well to cool and dry the air, creating a relaxing atmosphere. What followed was the most satisfying thai massage I’ve had to date (this was my second trip to Thailand and I’ve had roughly 10 massages thus far).
While thai massages can be painful if the practitioner is not skilled or careful, this one was very different as the masseuse did a good job of identifying areas of tension/tightness and treated them well. I was so satisfied that I planned to return for another massage because of how good it was.
The following evening, I returned for another thai massage. I arrived a little over an hour prior to closing time and was directed upstairs. This time, there was no foot wash and I only met my masseuse while I was laying face down on the table waiting for her. I think I spent 10-15 minutes lying on the table waiting for her from when I first was brought to the upstairs room and when she finally arrived. What followed was (ironically) the worst thai massage I’ve ever experienced. You could tell she absolutely didn’t want to be there as she spent most of the hour simply standing on various parts of my body. There didn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to what she did as there were moments when she stood on the same spot for minutes on end. Multiple times, she stepped dangerously close to my spine which was very uncomfortable. Towards the end of my massage, she aggressively poked me to instruct me to turn over onto my front. From there, she continued stepping and barely grazed the crown jewels. I audibly responded to this intrusion to which she apologized and spent the rest of the time softly rubbing my legs.
Overall, your experience is likely to vary heavily depending on the practitioner you get. You could walk out having just enjoyed the best treatment you’ve had or you could get the masseuse from Hell. Bon...
Read moreMy husband and I spent a whole day of walking (18,050 steps/about 7.87 miles and 16 hours worth of standing according to my Apple Watch)..we passed along a couple of massage places, offering 250 for an hour, but they seemed a bit sketchy for being underground/very dark, we considered it, but when we told them we wanted to do more shopping and we’d be back in about 15-20mins, they got very nasty with us. Yee Heng Thai Massage was AMAZING and worth every bit. We ended up doing the 350 for 1 hour of foot, neck, and shoulder. They start by switching out your shoes with slides, keeping inside the facility clean, and then washing your knees and below for you. It’s about 40ish-45ish minutes on “feet” which extend all the way up to the knee, lots of pressure and working out all parts of the foot, toes, heel, calf, shin, and knee using both lotion and oil, followed by hot towels and compression. After there they continue on to your shoulder and neck. I had a lot of knots in my shoulders and very stiff muscles in my back from carrying my bag all day and shopping, so he focused a lot on loosening that up for me. My husband needed more stretching and in addition to the stiff muscles he had in his back and his masseuse helped him crack his back. My husband has been desperately trying to get that done, but was always worried about possible consequences. We ended our massages and finished off our zen state with Thai tea outside, which as all the reviews say, only the really good establishments offer at the end of your session. When we finished my husband immediately told me, leave them the best review you’ve ever written, these guys are worth penny—which is funny, because I had to convince to let us do the massages in the first place and this is absolutely not something he ever likes...
Read moreHad an amazing 2-hour Thai balm massage with Ning! She was incredibly skilled and attentive, applying pressure and adjusting accordingly just by noticing my reactions. She checked in to ask if I was ok w the massage from time to time. The ambience was relaxing and comfortable.
A huge shoutout to the front desk staff as well - she was friendly and accommodating. We were running a bit late for our appointment at 12 AM (arrived around 12:30 AM after shopping at Big C) and they were flexible with the timing. Although the shop was supposed to close at 2 AM (note that last order is at 1 AM), they finished our massage at 2:30 AM without rushing through anything.
HIghly recommend Ning and this establishment for their excellent service and late-night hours!
This is my second time here and will definitely be returning if I need another late night massage!
First time did a 1-hour foot, shoulder neck massage which was ok. My friends said it was ok/good too. 2-hour massage is...
