Been coming to this casino in its various guises for nearly 30 years and this will be my last visit. On queuing to get in we coincidentally found ourselves with two other small groups who were at the same comedy venue as us an hour earlier. Spirits were high as we talked but the member of staff on reception took exception to this, saying we were disrupting their work and if we were to continue (frivolity) we would not be getting inside. The couple behind us eventually decided it wasn't for them and left. Spirits thoroughly dampened, on entry I found that the casino is now dominated by electronic machines, presumably now the most efficient way for patrons to part with their cash. Only two roulette tables and one blackjack table upstairs. Unsurprisingly, only a few 'high rollers' were playing roulette as singles are £5 minimum. When did this happen? With lower stakes, roulette tables used to be a mass of colour, acrivity and buzz. In other words - fun. Not anymore. Again, the clamour for ever more resource efficient ways to increase the bottom line wins the day and the experience is lost. Please don't take these as the words of a sore loser (and I did leave with lighter pockets). I had some fun playing blackjack and enjoyed the humour of the dealer Micky (even if he had a horrible knack of drawing himself 20s and 21s!). Thanks Micky. Without being too sepia viewed, I'll cherish some of the long evenings I've spent with friends over the years at this casino in Preston Street (which we still call the International). What I saw and experienced last night...
Read moreThis is my second visit to Genting Brighton and i really enjoy it. It’s always been very clean and tidy at this casino, if not maybe a little small but that can’t be helped.
The staff have always been very friendly and helpful, even if you do ask a stupid question. I generally only play slots and on the Sunday i went with a friend it was pretty much empty so there was plenty of machines to pick from, I would like to see another one or two of the IGT machines tho. However being two of the 5 people there on the slots one of the staff greeted the regulars by name and had a small chit chat, i found it a little rude that although we are not regulars we didn’t even get a hello how are you? Drinks are what you’d expect from a casino really and you can have service to the machine so you don’t need to move. Went again on the Monday night and the casino was much busier, especially the slot area and if most of the machines are being played it can feel a little cramped.
Overall i really do enjoy this casino and i will be back the next time i...
Read moreI picked my father up from this casino one night after a frantic call from him. I had to drive all the way from Polegate to Brighton, about 22 miles with my 4 year old son at the time. The casino had promised to organise him a taxi as they had been plying him with complimentary drinks in order to keep him playing. Unfortunately for them he ended up winning and when he asked about getting a taxi, as he did not know the area they said as he had won he could find his own way home. You have...
