Having lived in the USA in the past Fogo De Chao was a favorite haunt of mine, When they arrived in the UK I was delighted, Last year I made several trips to Fogo De Chao in Soho and wasn't expecting it to be as good as the USA but have to say the quality of the meat was 2nd to none and while the atmosphere wasn't quite as good the service and attendance was great.
However I booked the Brighton last night and we where faced with an empty reception stand after a few minutes a waitress arrived and I said I had booked didn't ask my name or welcomed us just sat us at a table which had approximately 3 or groups sitting nearby, I asked if we could sit a bit further back and the waitress replied no because they are short on staff so impossible to make them walk another 6 foot! Our guest had not been to this type of restaurant before so I gave then the run down of how it works while we waited for some service we had basically been sat down and abandoned a good 10 minutes before the waitress returned to ask if we wanted any drinks we ordered 2 bottles of wine the waitress then returned saying they didn't have the white we wanted so we asked what other dry white they had and she said she didn't know I asked if we could try the House white which just stated various the waitress said she wasn't sure if we could taste it so I suggested she went and spoke to her manager eventually a sample arrived we order a bottle which arrived no ice bucket which |I asked for she returned with that we opted for the Premium meat option at 36.95 a head and again no explanation of what happens to our guest so I did the run through for them. We went to get our plates and returned to the table the meat started arriving in slow dribbles the servers not really telling us what it was and then nothing for a while |I asked the waitress to ask them to bring us some more meats she said she couldn't do that I repeated the request as felt maybe she didn't understand she said it wasn't down to her it was down to the head chef I asked if she wanted me to go and ask him or was she going to sarcastically to which she rolled her eyes huffed and went to ask a really disappointing evening and a poor example of a Fogo de Chao in my opinion and our guest won't be returning Basically £260 for 4 short changed on service and certainly not offered the array of meats listed Avoid if you don't wont to be disjointed or head to...
Read moreBad attendance! Did I say bad? Then multiply by 10 HORRIBLE service at all. Today I had one of the worst experiences of my life. We arrived at the restaurant (A friend and I) around 2:30 pm to join a group that had arrived around 1:00 pm. We opted for the "full rodizio" and then we set up our plate with the self service and waited for the meats to arrive. After 3 or 4 diferent quality of meat passed through the table (a matter of 15 to 20 minutes) they simply stopped serving us. I finished my pint and when ordering an other, I politely made the appropriate complaint and said that it had been about 20 minutes that no one had served us. So, immediately the meats began to be served... ...for only 3 times and in all I could see that we were offered only 5 different qualities of meat, one of them being the famous sausage, which usually nobody accepts in a rodizio. And they just stopped serving us again! I left around 4 pm and I was hungry, because I didn't think I would have to stuff myself with rice and beans to satisfy my hunger. We weren't asked if we'd like any kind of dessert or if we were satisfied we were simply handed the bill. I came to the conclusion that it was not a full rodizio, but a dodgy rodizio (FULLeiro). I won't be back, I don't recommend it and the star above still doesn't do justice to the poor quality service. I felt cheated and my only regret was not having exposed this situation in front of the other customers to see if they wake up for life. Here is my indignation about this disaster called...
Read moreWas looking forward to this as we'd been to a great similar place before in York. The one in York is certainly better where staff can't do enough for you, the food is flowing and is about a third of the price.
Almost everything I had here was good and the server was polite and answered any questions we had, couldn't fault him. When he noticed we weren't eating certain things he brought out, he asked what we might want instead which was attentive of him. I paid for the most expensive package as I eat all meat and saw that the infamous Brazillian pineapple was included but when it came, it was just warmed through pineapple, no cinnamon which was very disappointing. My partner does not eat beef and I felt there were too few options for him which also seemed pricey for what they were.
The most disappointing thing was the £11 cover charge which I hadn't seen on the menu and of course, the menus were promptly whisked away. As it was called a cover charge on the receipt, we thought we had to pay it but since getting home and double checking the menu, it's actually a discretionary service charge so could have been waived though we weren't made aware of that at the time. I would have waived it in all honesty as we already spent £80 and another 12% on top of that just feels greedy. Put a dampener on the meal which overall was fine and would make me think twice...
