After being wonderfully proposed to with a fabulous loose, wildly unique diamond, my fiancé and I started the creative journey of finding a jeweller to create my engagement ring - cue the first nerve-wracking Hatton Garden trip.....

I can only describe HG as the "Ibiza" of jewellery shopping due to the mix of top-class and somewhat questionable establishments in such close proximity, you switch from San-Antonio Bay to the Old-Town every step you take. We started the window shopping; whilst browsing in through the halogen lit glass boxes for inspiration, we had to bat off some pushy sales people cat-calling us into their shops, to which we curtly responded in our ever-so-birtish way, "no thanks just looking".... the first one we spotted that had ring that included some elements of what I was looking for was Arlington & Co... and no pushy sales people calling us in (win) so we stepped inside for a chat.

We explained what we were looking to do and we were taken to talk to Stephen in the back office .... immediately we liked this as we didn't feel like it was a pretentious showroom, it was the friendly, family run, office which made us feel very comfortable. After chatting for over an hour, we were shown the on-site worksop (rare for Hatton Garden) - we are both creative people so this was the exciting part for us, the belly of the beast was so interesting.

As this was our first shop, Stephen and his team encouraged us to speak to other shops in the area and come back to them when we had decided if we wanted to continue the process with Arlington. This confirms their level of expertise and confidence as they didn't feel the need to influence our opinion of other shops, we were able to make up our own mind.

Two weeks later I went back to Arlington and stared the process with them. After a lot of back an forth on email regarding the design, completely due to my obsessive-detail-compulsiveness, Stephen designed the perfect ring for me, taking account of all the elements I specified.

Within ten weeks of starting the creative and meaningful journey, thanks to Arlington & Co's expertly skilled team, my engagement ring is perfectly caressing my wedding finger, sparkling like a glacier in the summer sun .... god I'm such a sap for a diamond ... ha!

I want to do it all again! (make more jewellery with Stephen and the team ... not planning on getting engaged again...

I initially found searching for an engagement ring quite stressful, with most jewellers getting their calculators out before telling me anything about diamonds, their rings and what to look for.

I came across Arlington & Co. and was immediately at ease with Stephen, Claire and their colleagues.

The shop is classic, no tacky decoration like in other shops down Hatton garden.

Stephen took me through everything (without a calculator) and I was completely fascinated with his knowledge and felt very comfortable. You can tell that this is a passion and not a quick sell.

I learnt how to enjoy the whole process and each time I went into the shop I always felt welcomed.

Working with my budget, together we found a beautiful diamond and designed my perfect ring. I was shown round the workshop (Which was fascinating) and received photos of the build process. The quality of the final ring is unreal, I was and still am completely lost for words. It’s simply stunning and I couldn’t be happier.

I couldn’t recommend Arlington & Co. more. I completely trusted everyone here (which is important) and it was a very enjoyable experience.

I have recently proposed (she said yes-phew!) and will go back into the shop soon to say hello! I will absolutely get our wedding bands here too.

This review can’t express how grateful I am for the experience at Arlington & Co. For me, engagement ring shopping was initially a daunting experience. I had very little knowledge of diamond rings and the team at Arlington & Co. graciously spent the time to explain details without judgement and made me feel most comfortable.

While walking down Hatton Garden, I figured it was more about picking the right jeweller as any jeweller can stock a diamond ring. I wasn’t after the greatest deal on earth or online shopping, I wanted a family company I could trust, the experience, the story, I wanted fond memories of a time where I could point out the shop I nervously made the first step towards proposing to my partner. Everything prior was all talk, and blessings of course.

I loved the fact that the rings were made on site and they allowed me to look at the workshop and meet one of the jewellers. I suspect I was one of their most indecisive customers and they had the patience for me. They wanted me to be 100% happy and I sensed they genuinely cared. It was all worth it as the ring was flawless. And of course she loved it.

It was comforting to return with my partner to have our wedding bands made. Once again, they have exceeded my expectations. They were perfect and shall sit safe until our...
