The bouncers do not allow you to take your drinks out when smoking or vaping (which is fair) but allow you to leave your drink on a ledge next to the door?
Where all the drinks look the same and could be spiked as they are not supervised.
I find this alarming especially because the crowd is young 18-25 which I believe requires a better duty of care!
So either you leave your drink on the ledge or down the drink before going out to the smoking area (irresponsible drinking)
The reason I’m annoyed is because I chose the option to leave the drink on the ledge but when I came back, two of my drinks were cleared up or stolen.
I told the useless bouncers and they told me it was my fault and SIMMONS are not responsible!
WHICH IS A SHAME! Because of their poor customer service I chose to not spend no more money which is probably a good thing as usually I can spend up to 3k on a night out in Mayfair (not showing off)
Moving on the bouncers must have all been bullied in school because their unnecessary aggressive nature and lack of experience reflects in the whole team’s pathetic organisation and diffusion of arguments and fights (I worked on the doors for 5 years SIA)!
Not being racist being Asian myself but the Asian bouncer honestly is lucky I didn’t punch him up for his aggressive tone and attitude he used to address me on numerous occasions (I may have years ago but I have matured as a person and violence is not right) and being a trained MMA fighter I have self discipline.
He was giving orders to me like I’m a child (I’m a 39 year old man so you lucky I didn’t school you on your communicational skills)
Anyhow sorry for my long rant. SIMMONS DO BETTER especially as your target audience is 18-25! You owe these kids a duty of care!
The most polite and genuine person was probably the gentleman- toilet attendant, bar staff and cloak room lady!
If SIMMONS was my establishment I would get rid of all the bouncers but that’s just my opinion!
All of this could have been resolved with a reimbursement of my drinks! However £33 cost SIMMONS (Oxford street) almost 3k as we were celebrating my nephews 22nd Birthday and was ready to spend!
Bouncers need to understand their position and job role and leave the management to the management staff.

This was a combination of a university reunion after 20 years as well as celebrating a double Birthday! From the initial communication with Claudia at head office reservations team, to visiting the branch to view the premises. I had a lovely meeting with the branch manager - Nicole, who was highly supportive. I was highly impressed on how accommodating and supportive the staff was to ensure the bookings was secured and to ensure guests had an enjoyable and successful time. All my questions leading up to 48 hours to the event day was cleared. Upon arriving the oxford circus branch that evening, Simmons Bar were true to their word, on how busy the branch was, and it was only 5pm on a Saturday. The security staff were professional and welcoming to all guests.
The door manager and another staff Igli supported me to ensure my reserved space was cleared of previous guests and provided help in decorating the area, as well as storing a birthday cake so it wouldn’t be damaged. Igli and the door manager went far and beyond to provide all the assistance I needed before the guests arrived. The whole event went smashingly well. As us ‘oldies’ we didn’t stay long, only a few hours, however it was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves.
