Resolution Park was the last place that Captain Cook visited before turning south to sail for warmer waters. He must not have cared much for the giant mud flats that surround Anchorage. The locals liked him enough to erect this statue to his likeness and put up a nice historical marker. The wooden platform turns a circular path for all people, including the elderly and the people confined to wheelchair mobility to access.
