Nice selection of goods but piss-poor service. My mother was visiting me from out of state. We decided to go shopping in downtown Anchorage. After spending a good deal of money, we wandered into this shop. I was going to buy a few things and she was going to purchase items ( fox tails and t-shirts) when my mother told me that she’d politely asked to use the restroom, even offered to pay beforehand, when a worker told her “No. We don’t have a public restroom. YOU PEOPLE know to go across the street”. Even if we were homeless, they shouldn’t speak to people that way. I will NEVER shop here and will tell everybody that I know not to shop here. Is this how you treat your customers, the tourists? I’m upset that my mother was treated this way; I wish I hadn’t come here. I told her that Alaskans weren’t as friendly as Texans, but I wasn’t expecting to be proven...
Read moreI had a horrible experience while shopping here. I am Alaska Native. I have dark skin, dark hair, dark everything. Maybe that is why they decided to follow me all around the store until I was ready to leave. My partner and I were shopping for a good 30 minutes and a few minutes in I couldn’t help but notice an older short woman with short white hair following me all around. She didn’t even try to hide the fact she was following me and was purposefully making me uncomfortable. I even decided to make a purchase so they would see I’m not there to steal then she practically escorted me to the door when I was done checking out. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience and unexpected from an ALASKAN gift shop. I won’t be...
Read moreGreat gift shop with a ton of "Alaskan" items. They are a bit overpriced for most items but the convenience of grabbing gifts for multiple people all in one location make it worth it for most. Some items are a little extreme on the price but most items are great gifts. The space does not allocate a ton of walking space because of the amount of items that are packed into the store, but it's not difficult to get around thanks to the small displays instead of long isles. Would definitely recommend to tourists if they haven't grabbed a gift before they go to...
