This location has gone down hill over the last year. I used to come here often, but lately, every time I come, they are out of something. The last time I came here, last Friday night around 7:30, they were putting up a sign in their door that said only drive thru open, which whatever, that's where I was headed any way however, upon pulling up to the drive thru, they said order when you're ready and then proceeded to tell me their list of items that they were out of, which was basically their whole menu and I'm not even exaggerating. They said we are out of cups, I'm sorry, how are you out of cups?! Then, they proceeded to also say they were out of strawberries, pineapple, mango, banana, slaw, chicken, tortilla's and the list just went on. I said to the person in the drive thru, "so basically you have nothing," and they didn't say anything, so I said ok well, never mind and left. I couldn't believe how long that list was of supposed items that they were out of?! It almost just seemed like they didn't want to do anything. How can you be out of literally everything, including cups?!! The previous time before that, I came at around 6 in the evening, and they stated they were out of the dressing for their thai chicken wrap, strawberries, and pineapple. Please tell me how you're supposed to be a smoothie cafe, and yet, you don't have the main ingredients that the majority of people coming there to eat would want. I went to the one on Coors immediately after leaving there, and they were amazing. I will only be going to the Coors location from now on. It seems either management and/or the staff at this location really don't know how to run a business or care about serving...
Read moreMy granddaughter placed an order and asked me to pick it up on my way to her house. When I arrived at Tropical Cafe I told the girl behind the counter that this was my first visit and I wasn't familiar with what I needed to do. She said my order would be ready in a few minutes. A few minutes later she called my name and gave me 3 smoothies. Since I didn't place the order I assumed I had received everything. I put the drinks in the holder and got straws and left the shop. Apparently there was also food but no one said anything about my not getting my entire order. I was parked right outside the door so someone could have simply opened the door and said i didn't have my complete order...but they watched me leave. When I got to my Granddaughter's house she asked where the food was. That's when I realized no one at Tropical Cafe told me I didn't have my complete order. We called and asked for our money back and were told it wasn't possible to give a refund but I could return to the shop and they would give me what I didn't get. I went later in the afternoon and picked up my food. I mentioned to the manager that I had told the girl I had never been there before and maybe she could have been a little more attentive. The manager smiled at me...turned her head and rolled her eyes like I was a huge inconvenience. I am 74 years old and I wasn't familiar with the shop or the order. Also...while I waited i noticed a dirty pair of cleaning gloves in the middle...
Read moreIf I could give this location a negative rating I would. We places an order online and they didn’t call us to notify us that they were out of tortillas for the wraps so they assumed we wanted salads. Which was fine but we wanted to ask for sauce on the side because we were going to make our own wraps at home. Unfortunately we could not do that because we tried to get someone’s attention and everyone was looking over us to help the people in the back.
When we finally got someone’s attention she responded with “yeah?” She grabbed our food and threw them (very aggressively) in the trash right in front of us. And was slamming everything to remake the “salads” meanwhile giving dirty looks.
Another employee, Ramone I believe his name was, was very apologetic and sweet he just apologized and when we asked him to speak to a manager he stated that was their manager. Awesome… I’ve managed so many restaurants in my life, that is not an okay to act. Especially in front of customers.
After remaking our food she came and plopped the containers in front of us (without a bag because she threw the bag away) and then she walked away without saying one single word. So we had to then get someone’s attention again to get a bag.
It was our first time there and we were looking forward to trying it. This had to have been the worst experience I have ever had anywhere. And trust me when I say this. I NEVER complain when I go out because I know how it is. But...
