Difficult to return. Expired Food. Unprofessional.
I knew that Hallmark is a very repulated brand for greeting cards. I knew that it was overpriced that I paid $8 for a birthday card today. Going with me, My two young kids also bought a box of yelly bean around the same money. When we were about to leave, my kids read and found out this is intended for 13 or old kids, and very spicy. We decided to return it. The box itself is well packaged, colorful and sealed in plastic. We did not touch it. But the clerk told me that according to the store policy, once purchased, it can not be returned, even it was not opened, and its seal was not broken, even just a second after the purchase transaction.
We left the store with this unwanted and nonrefunded box. I tasted a yelly bean. It tasted rotten, I spitted it out, checked out expiration date. It expired on Jan 25. I immediately returned to the sore. The same clerk spilled out beans on her desk, presumbly by accident when she turned over to verify the expiration day. She claimed that it was not expired, with the all intention for me to take back the beans she spilled on her desk. Thus she reallized today is Feb 3 and admitted it is expired by more than a week. She still would not give me the refund. She asked me to wait before she could not make the decision, but the manager was not around. How a brand like Hallmark could...
Read moreShop at Target instead. Called both the McKinney and Allen locations looking for boxed Christmas cards I saw online that needed today. The lady in McKinney was rude. The Allen location does not do item checks over the phone. It’s their loss in potential sales. I’ve shopped there before, but not driving all over DFW to find boxed cards. Target was close by and had several nice options (also cheaper). I was able to find some seals for the back of the envelopes there. I already had a “Merry Christmas” ink stamp from Michael’s that I use for the back of all my Christmas cards. It’s worth shopping around at different retailers, especially when there’s bad customer experiences. Life is too short to waste energy or time on...
Read moreI always try to shop this Hallmark as it's local business. However, as I was checking out, I asked if a few items rang up with the sale price. Associate says not sure, I ran back to check sale sign and she asks the manager. He was SO rude! I told him what sign said and his choice of words and facial expressions were NOT customer friendly, to say the least! I mentioned specifically the signs verbiage and he once again snapped at me quite rudely! Needless to say, I will NOT be shopping at that Hallmark any time soon! IF he would have honored the sale, it would have only amounted...
