I absolutely love Burlington so when I moved into a complex within 5 minutes walking distance from this store I was incredibly excited! I would come 2-3 times a week to shop till I DROP (and when I say that I mean until my bank account noticeably drops đđ) but if I needed anything here and there I would much rather go here than make a trip to any other store since itâs so close and who knows what kinda things Iâll find to add to my shopping list. But the first time I EVER even walked into the store I noticed the loss prevention man was on every single aisle I was browsing through. And when I say every single aisle I mean EVERY. SINGLE. AISLE. I even tested this out by darting from one side of the store to the other and everywhere I turned THERE HE WAS! So I tried to ignore it and checked out. The next time I went in (on this specific loss prevention employees shift) I noticed the same exact thing. And when I checked out they left a security tag on one of my items so the girl who checked me out was helping me look for the security tag when this SAME loss prevention employee grabbed the Burlington bag and said âlet me save you some timeâ and took the bag over to the security sensor obviously expecting it not to go off as he was assuming the reason the sensor was going off was in my purse. But the bag set off the security sensor and he put my bag down and walked away. The next time I came in and ran into this particular loss prevention employee it was about 20 minutes before closing and as I was walking in I was telling a friend who I was with(NOTE: before even entering the store I had told my friend how a I wished another store was open because I hated going into this store when he is working) that I just had to get one thing and I would meet her when we were done. What do you know, that loss prevention man must have followed me to the very back of the store and he was standing maybe 5-10 feet from me at the dressing room seriously just less than tactfully staring at me watching me as I looked for the right pack of puppy pads (which are probably 2x the size of my purse by the way, so Iâm not sure what he was expecting) when I found the right pack of puppy pads I started looking around AS PEOPLE USUALLY DO IN STORES⊠and this man had THE NERVE to tell me âcome on the store is closing you said you wanted one thing you need to go check outâ Ummm⊠first of all I wasnât telling him I just needed one thing as if itâs his business anyways, itâs literally his job to stay at the store until it closes. As he was LITERALLY ESCORTING ME TO THE FRONT OF THE STORE the loud speaker went off letting everyone know there was 20 minutes until the store would close. So why was this man stopping me from SHOPPING in a department store when there was still 20 minutes left of the store being open? I understand the need for loss prevention but this was 100% HARRASSMENT. Iâm not sure what this manâs personal problem with me is but this was the most off putting experience I have ever had in any store Iâve been in. Itâs extremely insulting to be profiled like this. What do I look like to this man to treat me like a criminal in a store I choose to spend my money in? Is it because of the way I look? There was another woman at the front of the store when I was leaving who was saying the exact same thing, that he was following her around making her extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome, we both got the corporate number to call and I have debated on whether I should actually call or not but the more I think about it the more this bothers me. This is not the only three times Iâve had this experience with this man but the three that stood out the most. In alll the time this man was focused on me SHOPPING imagine how many people he missed ACTUALLY STEALING. Also the night shift is the only shift I have this problem the loss prevention man from the morning shift is always helpful and nice! I really hate to say it but I will not be coming...
Read moreI was a customer at this store back on September 27th. I came in to shop for some body wash. On my way to the personal care section I noticed the loss prevention officer staring at a African American female making some comments over the radio about her while she was in the same area that I was heading to. They did not have the body wash in stock I was looking for so I left the store empty-handed. To my surprise while walking to my car I happen to look up and see the elderly White loss prevention officer that was in the store standing outside watching me while I was getting in my car. As I began to pull out of the parking lot the loss prevention officer came outside again to and begin to look at me for a second time. At this point I shocked and disturbed by the loss prevention officers behavior. It was very clear that I was being profiled in targeted as a potential shoplifter the fact that the loss prevention officer felt he need to leave his post and follow me outside and watch me was a complete outrage. Here it is I walk directly past the lost prevention officer with only my phone in my hand and he still felt the need to watch me and have the audacity to walk out side of the store to monitor me while I walk to my car. It is this sort of ballistic outrageous and insane behavior that will cause me to never step foot into the store again to bring them my business and hard earned money. I'm disgusted and I have not even received the follow-up call from the management team to make sure that this situation was properly dealt with. I don't appreciate being treated this way as a customer. It is clear that this store does not value it's customers and training is very poor when it comes to loss prevention this is not the proper way of how any loss prevention officer should be treating customers their job should be to observe and if the customer is doing something suspicious only then with that warrant them to start monitoring the customer but when you see a customer leaving a store empty-handed they're just simply is no excuse to be following someone outside the store that is completely...
Read moreI shop often at the store I live in the area. I go to the store multiple times throughout the month today. I stopped by the store to see and browse and get me something and I had to use the restroom to my surprise. The restroom is now locked with a code and I understand that the store management is trying to prevent losses, etc., however is that fair to someone that go to the store to shop and that is in a rush probably itâs taking their lunchtime to go and shop and needs to use the restroom and now you have add the fact that you have to literally search around the store for a employee to open the bathroom door so you can go potty and this is both bathroom man / woman ⊠this is ridiculous and a waste of time for your shoppers. Your stores have shoppers that go into the store for a quick run to get whatever they need and step out and in the process they might need to use the restroom. I donât have time to be searching around for one of your employees to open the door for them to pee. addition, Burlington is a store which is open to the public is not an office building where I understand they would put codes on the bathrooms so random people are not able to go in and use the restroom because thereâs an office building. Burlington is a store with people go to shop for items therefore it makes it public, thereâs other way preventing theft, more securities. I donât know find another way besides locking the bathroom doors. It might be a stupid complaint, but to meet is valid because I donât have time to be searching for an employee when I have to use the restroom and...
