Banana Republic — Local services in Arlington

I don't frequent this store but I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service provided by one of the store leaders Keith. I was welcomed and greeted when I first entered the store. I came to return some merchandises but unsurprisingly found something I liked. I later proceed to Keith to ask him to check some sizes for me, he did it with patience and friendliness. When we learned the merchandise were sold out online as well as in his store, Keith called a few other stores for me to check availability. This process took at least twenty minutes and in my own experiences, to ask a sales person to call a different store to make purchase is a nightmare for him/her because it is very time consuming. My mom came to America for the first time. In our country, people just don't smile to everyone . This is not rudeness, just another culture, to smile when you really want to. But she wanted to respect the culture of America, and tried to smile at everyone back, and her smile turned out not like an American quick, but like a smile to good friends. Also in the morning we had already bought a thing there. . we went to Banana, I looked at this situation (I am a daughter). My mom smiles longer than Americans, and as soon as she turns away, two girls start looking after her and laughing. seriously? ... it became disgusting and we left. of course I will not stop going to this store, but these two go to ignore. I usually love Banana Republic and as a company I still do. I shop online and in store. This is a review of this particular store in Pentagon City. I came at 10:06am to do a return and they were supposed to be open at 10am. I even called while sitting in front of the store. The person who answered said they were not open because the employee opening was late and still had to finish counting the registers. They said they would just be a moment. They finally opened the doors at 10:26am. Person who opened the door was very quiet, didn’t acknowledge me waiting there and seemed to not be in the best mood. She wasn’t necessarily rude but she had a sad energy about her. Or maybe she was just tired. I wished her a good morning and hope she had a good day.
