Quality installation and products but deceptive pricing. We had A1 rough in an in-house vacuum system when we built our new town home in 2019. This past month we called them back to complete the job. We have 7 vacuum inlets in our house. A1's sales person told us that the final price for completing the work would depend upon the number of connections the installer made throughout the house and not the number of inlets. I foolishly allowed the sales person (Andrew) to quote all 7 inlet in his estimate because he said the final price would be determined by connections the installer made. So much for trusting people.
During the install, I asked the installer (who is first rate by the way) how many connections he made and he stated 4 connections plus a vac-pan for a total of 5. As such, I expected to pay for just 5 inlets (at $65 per) instead of the 7 based on his and the sales persons comments.
Unfortunately, the final bill still showed a total 7 inlets or an additional $130 ($65/inlet X 2) over what I had be led to believe I would be paying.
When I challenged this with Paul from A1 he tried to convince that the price is based on inlets in the house totally ignoring the assurances of his sales person and his installer that it would be less. He also tried patronizing me with comments about how his prices had gone up in the past year and how he hadn't raised them for me despite the obvious fact that I have no idea how he prices his products or services. He also made no effort to reduce his price or even attempt to find a middle ground compromise.
Bottom line: A1 has a great installer who installed what I believe is a quality product in a clean and effective manner. I only wish the companies sales people were a bit...
Read moreI went in to see about getting a Beam vacuum head fixed. I didn't want to get another replacement. I just purchased a replacement here at A-1 Vacuum just over a year ago. The gentleman looked at it and said it was an outdated model. He stated that I couldn't have bought it there that recent (as I claimed) because the serial # was from 2012. I assured him that I had and that I wasn't looking to buy a new one anyway, since this was so new and that I had the part that came off...I believe it just needed to be snapped back into place but I didn't know how to do that. He wasn't even willing to do that, to take a look and try. I was feeling discouraged, see the vacuum wasn't mine, but I am the one who was using it when it broke, so I feel like I should be the one to get it fixed, or but Another new one if I had too, as a last resort.
He did inform me how much it would take to buy a new vacuum head AND hose, because that is the only way....but I just could not fathom how it was going to be well over $500+ .
My gut was telling me it is fixable but he wasn't willing to even try and take a look.
I decided to just go home and maybe try Googling it again to ty and see if I could do this myself. No luck with Google...BUT...I sat on my kitchen floor and just set it down in front of me and thought about how this popped out piece could fit...AND IT DID..with no struggle, I just had to get it turned the right way and slide in thr piece.
I would NEVER , AND WILL NEVER go back. It is despicable that they are only there to sell and not help...
Read moreI bought my vacuum from them about a year ago..the guy who helped me was very nice and welcoming so I bought a vacuum for $250.. somehow my son broke off a tube so I went to go see how much it would cost to fix. A lady named Cathy so called helped me she didnt greet us when we came in and she looked at me like I was some ghetto girl with children... I showed her my vacuum and asked her how much can this cost to get fixed. She looked at vacuum played with the tube and said I would have to look up the part then she went to the back to talk to a guy. Then she came back and said I don't know we need to look up the part and she went on the computer for about 5 minutes then looked at me and said I can't give you a answer ...so I said did you look up the part...she went to the back then came out and said we could look up the part if you leave your vacuum for a non refundable $20.. I was so confused and the guy she was talking to came out and she said oh he's busy... then he walked back to the back. I thought this lady was very rude and she really didn't want to help me....so I won't be doing business with them anymore.it may be small to you but this was big to me I work in customer service and this lady was awful if only you had been there you...
