Aspen Shakti — Local services in Aspen

Do not do mountain top yoga with Shakti. We purchased the mountain top yoga on Monday and it was cancelled due to the weather (very understandable). However, our frustration was that we were never notified of the cancellation (no email or text) and found out when we got all the way up the mountain that it was cancelled. So on Wednesday, we called 30 minutes before the class was scheduled to start, and we asked if we could use our ticket from Monday. They confirmed we could use our ticket and the class was still on. So we got all the way to the top of the mountain again and found out they had cancelled it and didnt notify us again. We could not reschedule again, so we asked for a refund. They told us they don't offer refunds. No where on the website, or when we signed up does it state this policy. We spent $105 dollars ($27 for the class, plus 2 gondola tickets up the mountain $39 x 2) for a class that never happened. It is completely understandable to need to cancel for weather, but it needs to be communicated when it happens and any 'no refund' policies need to be...

Unlike some other spots in town I got a really warm and authentic vibe from this studio. The atmosphere is rustic yet very bohemian, barnwood, sheepskin etc... They have these punched tin lights in the practice space that reflect perfect little geometrical mandalas on the walls, I want one in my bedroom. As for the yoga, obviously the most important part, the variety and scope is impressive. I did a Piyo (pilates yoga) class with Heather that made my glutes sore for days and was fun and challenging without being too pushy. I also did a basics class with Jess whose humor and playfulness made it lovely, and just the right amount of stretch for a mellow class. I hope they stick...

Aspen Shakti is truly one of the most special places in Aspen. I have been going to classes at this studio for the past 5 years and it never ceases to deliver a truly amazing experience. Shakti is by far the best studio in town and you can feel that immediately when you walk in the doors. Any visitors, friends, family.....I always tell them to take a class at Shakti while they are in town. The space is not only gorgeous but has amazing energy owing to the thought, love and consciousness that each and every teacher and student invigorates in the space.
