Cray Historical Home Museum — Local services in Atchison

I took my kids (8, 5, & 1) as a little homeschool field trip. It's a beautiful house, and we enjoyed seeing all the artifacts and hearing the history.

All the staff working were very welcoming and graciously listened to the many comments my kids had.

I would recommend only bringing children who can the "look but don't touch", since nearly everything is too old to handle. For children who can't do that, the carriage house around back has a little video about Atchison and that theater is more...

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. We were the only visitors at the time we arrived. We had three lovely ladies give us tours of the various parts of the home. The carriage house is a gift shop and there's a 20 minute video to watch as well. The video covers Atchison and it's history which is very interesting. The home and museum covers historical events and culture. It's a nice place to visit...

Wish I had pictures to post. This was one of the best historical houses I've ever seen. The furnishings, artifacts and memorabilia are first class. The ladies that give personal tours are top notch guides. We were there 3X longer than expected and enjoyed...
