I’ve been wanting to visit this boutique butcher shop for some time and after my second time visiting and shopping there - I am now a customer! I live in Fayetteville but I’m in the Buckhead area frequently for work and errands. Both visits I purchased the BBS 10oz filets - I’m a Whole Foods girlie and typically get filets from there due to Whole Foods being one of the few big box grocery stores that have a higher meat quality. However, the tenderness, quality, and flavor of the BBS filets surpassed what we normally get at Whole Foods. It was like we were eating at Chops of C Ellet’s but at home. The general manager Sam, who attended to me the first time was super helpful and recommended their white truffle oil to apply on the steaks once they were done cooking. Following his instructions which were easy - my husband was knocked off his socks with the steak dinner I made at home. Annika the event coordinator was also helpful in providing me information in regards to private and public events & she’s also from my hometown area! We also LOVE their wagyu bacon (it has the texture, sizzle, and flavor similar to pork bacon but a great option for non-pork eaters). I paired the steak dinners with homemade whipped garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and crab cakes (I purchased the ingredients for our sides at Whole Foods around the corner). I wish BBS would carry their own steak sauce but the white truffle oil enhances the flavors of their steaks so perfectly that steak sauce isn’t necessary. As a second generation small business owner, I appreciate their business model and how they pivoted during Covid. It’s great to see how supportive their clientele and community are!

Stopped in today to pick up a brisket for the holiday weekend. Decided to come here instead of Publix because we figured we would be supporting a small, local business, and we thought we would receive top notch service. Asked for the brisket to be split into the point and the flat. The person behind the counter stared at me as if he didn't understand, but assured me that they could do that for us. After all, we are at a BUTCHER, right? When the employee came back, the brisket was merely cut in half. The point and the flat were now in two pieces, but still together. The two packages lined up in a perfect line where it was cut. I paid over $120 for this prime piece of beef and now have to try and salvage this at my kitchen counter. I think I'll stick to Publix going forward. At least they will actually butcher the meat I'm purchasing.

Stopped by this store and spent $150 on 3 steaks. 2 of the 3 steaks had a second price sticker almost perfectly over an original sticker. See pics below of $90 tomahawk steak with original pack date of 7/17 and then a second sticker of 7/23 (today) on top. The other was a $40 ribeye with the same thing. Seems very shady!

Check dates on meat sold because we’re 2 for 2 on rotten meat from our last purchases. Giving it 2 stars because we actually have had good experiences in the past few years, despite our last two being bad. This morning we just clipped open our pork butt package that was purchased two days earlier to realize the meat was rancid... a $57 pack of pork butt, by the way. This at 6am to have smoked ready for 15 guests later in the afternoon. We had no other choice but then to wait for Publix to open at 7am with fingers crossed. To make matters worse, the last time we shopped at Buckhead Butcher Shop, the SAME thing happened, but we thought we’d give it another shot. We went in after opening today to explain what happened, and the sales person noted that this particular meat needs to be prepared/cooked within 3-5 days from pack date. That means the meat was EXPIRED at time of sale based on the pack date. And before anyone questions “well why didn’t you check the date when purchasing?” This is because all the meat is behind the counter under glass, and one would think the salesperson would know to communicate a looming expiration date or make the decision to find a different package in the case of one that’s expired. We got a refund, but no effort to make up for the inconvenience. Needless to say, as much as we want to love this place and support a local small business, we sadly will not be making any purchases here going forward and highly encourage anyone else to question the pack dates prior to purchasing because it seems they’re not keeping...

Cool place, small independent shop like in Europe, South America, etc. Unique selection of products you won't find elsewhere. HOWEVER, be aware they will REFUSE to take your cash. I had 45 dollars worth of product and pulled out 50 dollars. Easy five dollars back, right? NO. They would NOT take the money and refused to accommodate (I can think of several ways to make it work). I unfortunately did not carry my credit cards with me because I switched wallets this morning but did not transfer the cards. Regardless, it seems silly to send away a customer with a guaranteed sale. You will probably see an answer form the owner/manager of the store saying that they are sorry, that they have been victims of robberies and so on. While it might be unfortunately true, it should not impact negatively a client/customer. We should have the right to pay cash or CC or electronic payment, the choice should be ours, not theirs.

They made their "business" decision, I have made mine. Don't want my money? Won't be...
