You know, I've been kindly contemplating putting this in writing for a while now, but thankfully, a little external reassurance today made it quite clear that I should proceed.

I have visited Creatures a rather excessive three times in recent history.

The first visit, for a simple cut and color, resulted in a tone that was, well, decidedly choppy and uneven. I was forced to point out, mid-drying, that a massive chunk on my right side was sitting far too high and unevenly. She then attempted to correct this oversight with a second application of toner.

Just a few short weeks later—having inconveniently traveled—I had to contact the salon again regarding the blending—or rather, the severe lack thereof, where my hair went from straight black to blonde without, shall we say, a proper transition. Back I went, only to have the stylist suggest we simply tone the entire look down.

Imagine my genuine surprise when, after a few washes, the color reverted to its original choppy, uneven glory. Back I went for the third time, only to be met with the solution: "Let's just put a darker toner on this time." At that point, I realized I was paying for repeated, temporary bandages.

Naturally, I became so incredibly fed up that I had to seek professional help elsewhere and simply color my hair back to my natural black just to hide the evidence. The truly delightful part was when I sat in the chair at the new salon, and no less than four stylists immediately and unanimously agreed that my cut was, in fact, significantly uneven. I have plenty of photographic documentation, should you need to see just how off it was.

It's simply disheartening to realize how much money has been wasted here for three visits that consistently left me feeling disappointed, with only temporary fixes and a decidedly lighter wallet. I won't be returning, as I'm just too terribly disappointed with the whole process. It's a shame, really, because I actually quite like the establishment itself... just not, you know, the specific...

I initially came in because I wanted a dark brown hair color. I was a little confused by the online options and ended up selecting a full highlight since that was the closest thing. When I saw my stylist, I mentioned that I wasn’t sure if I had booked the correct service but made it clear that I wanted a single color. Somehow, I left with a full head of blonde highlights.

The next day, I returned to have it fixed. I was told I would have to wait a week for the original stylist to correct it. Since I was very unhappy and didn’t want to walk around with the hair I was given, I asked for a refund but was informed that they don’t offer refunds, only corrections. They said a manager would contact me. When the manager reached out, they offered to squeeze me in that same weekend, which I appreciate.

On the second visit. I was given a color I felt I could live with, though it still wasn’t what I had originally asked for. Now, about two weeks later, the color has faded, and I’m left with a full head of highlights again. I don’t think it’s fair that I have to fix this myself, and my hair is now over-processed. I also don’t trust they will do a good job the third time around which is why I’m not returning.

Additionally, during my first visit they also stained my shirt, and now have refused to compensate me for it. They insisted I send them a link to the shirt so they could buy me a new one. I told them I bought it a little less than a year ago, so it’s no longer a model in stock, but that I would still like to be compensated. Because I was unable to provide a link they simply stopped responding to me.

I still feel like my request for a simple, single-color lift was grossly misinterpreted. Now I’m left with processed hair, a stained shirt, and nearly $400 less. I’ve never had such an awful experience anywhere else. I sincerely tried working with them on fixing the issue but clearly...

Running 25 mins late for first appt - stylist blamed this on a system booking error. I chalked this up to system error and decided to give them a second chance.

Running 20 mins late for second appt and front desk lady promised the stylist would be 5 more mins with the last client (without checking with stylist), after I left her know I was on a tight timeline with a work meeting.

20 minutes went by with no update.

I did stop by the front desk and let the front desk person know I likely would not be getting my hair cut due to work commitment and the stylists tardiness.

stylist came up to me at 20 mins past my scheduled appt time and told me they could get me back. I provided feedback I had a hard stop due to a work meeting and likely couldn’t flex. They asked if I could MOVE my work meeting. No words…they also offered to cut and wash me and let me leave with wet hair. Again, no words. Why would I pay over $100 for a cut and wash when I wanted a beautiful blowout?

They then asked to rebook me at a 30% discount on services. I responded with “I’m so sorry - I value my time more than a discount.” And departed the premises.

I mostly blame the front desk person for not checking with the stylist. However, the lack of accountability from stylist (owning the issue / apologizing for tardiness), offering bad solutions (asking me to move a work meeting, or be cut and left with wet hair), was also a sign that this wasn’t the right...
