This shop was absolutely wonderful. Wish I could have participated in more. I visited the shop while on vacation in Atlanta. Absolutely, wonderful atmosphere. Great selection of yarns (local/ hamd dyed/ and luxury), knitting needles (chiagoo and lykke), and crochet hooks (I only really noticed lykke and knitters pride/knitpro zing hooks.) Vincent was an absolute gem; knowledgeable, helpful, and has great energy. Helped me with some purchases and even wound a skein for me. I recently dove into chiagoo needles with an interchangeable set, but due to flight reatrictions couldnt bring them. and picked up two pairs of fixed chiaogoos. One set for knitting a hat while it was chilly in Atlanta, and a 9 inch for socks. Vincent even gave me ideas on how to travel safely with knitting supplies and avoid the dreaded confiscation. Unfortunately I don't get to Atlanta very often, but I did sign up with a customer profile. Hopefully, the shop might ship to where I live and fulfill online orders. There was so much life and happiness around the craft. Unfortunately, I don't have a local yarn shop where I am, but I truly loved this one. The pic is the hat I made that day with left over malabrigo. Some more malabrigo and Illimani that I just finished caking up...

No matter your ability, No matter your race, gender, or sexual orientation; everyone feels welcome here. It's bright and open. There are always "craft" togethers: Tues @2, Thurs@6, Sat@3, & Sun@2. There is a wide variety of skill level, and you don't even have to be knitting. Many people crochet, I even brought a quilt I was hand sewing the binding on. There is no need to be intimidated, everyone will ooh and ahh at your project and really make you feel like you've done a great job, even if you don't feel that way. Everyone (as in everyone sitting around the table, not just the staff) is also super helpful. You can't decide on a color combination, just ask, they'll gladly give you opinions.

This is definitely a happy place. It's casual and laid back. I can go in after working out it after being at work and no one cares, they're just happy...

Awesome addition to the craft scene in atl! Love having a local yarn shop right around the corner from me. The couple others in the area require long drives outside the city so this is a welcome addition. I’ve already been attending the knit-together a few times, and all crafts are welcome. They carry needles and crochet hooks of excellent quality for a fair price, and lovely high-end yarns. The shop staff are friendly and helpful if you have questions about the best yarn for a project. I’m fairly new to knitting and so the overwhelming types of yarn can be intimidating- they were super helpful getting me the right yarn for a tunic I’m making. Also right next to revolution doughnuts; you can’t go wrong with a...

I have traveled to many local yarn stores in several states, and The Craftivist is my absolute favorite! Local yarn artists’ work/yarn is prominently displayed and proudly shared by the incredibly warm, kind, and knowledgeable folks working in the store. My friend and I were in Atlanta for a conference, so we were certainly not locals; however, we were welcomed into the store like old friends and engaged in earnest, warm conversation. I had zero idea before walking into the store that Vincent had designed one set of the 12 Days of Madelinetosh knit patterns that I loved, but that was an awesome bonus to meet him and talk yarn for a while. I will be shopping online from home! Thank you for making us feel welcome!
