I want to preface this by saying the staff was very nice and respectful, and the place was very clean.
That being said, I will never go back here. I’m new to having long hair, and I told the lady I don’t even have a stylist in Atlanta, and I honestly think she took advantage of that. For braids, it was $355. The invoice says it was for taking out my last set ($55), combing my hair ($55), the braids ($200), and $45 for shampoo. The person I was going to go to (and didn’t, because I had a flight to catch during her next availability) said she charges $125 for the same exact service, and my friend that did my hair before she moved charged me $80. I honestly blame myself for that not clarifying prices beforehand, so that’s not the reason I’m writing this review
I’m writing it because two days after I got my hair done, the bands popped and the braids almost completely unraveled. To be clear, I’ve had rubber bands pop on me very many times. The hair has never unraveled to that extent. The last time I got my hair done was right before new years (I’m writing this as of early March) and it lasted 10 or so weeks. I feel it’s unacceptable to be charging $355, and it’s ruined after 2 days. Like mentioned, I got this in preparation for a vacation so the fact it couldn’t even make it to the vacation I felt was completely unacceptable. When I told the stylist my hair unraveled, she blamed the way I slept and said she can’t control what happens out of the shop.
To her credit she did say she could get it retwisted one time (she made sure to emphasize only once), but it was the next day when I’m going to be out for my vacation. When I told her that wouldn’t work, she said she’ll have someone call me and do it. They called two hours before my flight left
Luckily, i had a haircut appointment for the day of my flight and the original lady who I wanted to do my hair got the broken strands retwisted FOR FREE. She wasn’t even responsible for it unraveling. I feel like THAT’S customer service, and who I will be going to for any and all future hair needs
Again I’m not writing this to bash anyone; I don’t like writing negative reviews, but the price to quality ratio is just unacceptably bad. I don’t know if she just doesn’t usually have male clients or she bought hair that doesn’t work my hair texture or what but either way, I won’t be going back
EDIT: had to edit from a 2 to a 1, had two more bands pop and my hair completely unravel a day into my trip. Going to have to get it completely redid as soon as I get...
