We visited this black owned establishment on Friday, August 26, 2022. We decided to go here on a whim. I’m sure that many of the black Instagram influencers will make their rounds to this place, if they haven’t already. They do have availability to book a reservation online. We couldn’t book a reservation online prior to. Many of the reservations were already taken. We decided to just go to the business anyways. We arrived around 7:30 pm. We parked in the lot right in front of the business. There is a kiosk where you can pay for parking and afterwards place your receipt on your dashboard. Upon arrival the business was clean, Afrocentric, and had a mellow ambiance. There wasn’t a hostess in the front. Also nobody asked or verified if we had a reservation. I don’t think you need a reservation here. It did appear the business has been featured in some Atlanta newspaper and magazine articles. It appears that anyone is welcome to come in and have a drink and order food as desired. We were the only patrons inside at the time when we came in. They do have a small table area right outside the front door, where one party of patrons can be seated. There are exquisite black portraits of beautiful black women on the walls. There was no cover charge upon entry. The bartender who we believe was the owner, warmly greeted us. He stated we could sit wherever we wanted. They have small tables and chairs for seating. There is also seating at the bar. I felt the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. They definitely could stand to get more comfortable seating options for patrons. However, I assume this may be so you don’t stay too long and not leave. The business has a nice drink menu and also a small food menu. The drink menu had amazing selections with interesting names and flavor combinations. We asked the bartender for assistance in choosing our drinks. He obliged and explained their signature drink choices in great detail with ease. I always ask what is the sweetest drink, and he definitely informed me the Smooth Operator was. He also saw I was taking photos of the beautiful place and jokingly stated I should be their social media manager. We ordered the following menu items: Gamblers & Gallantry drink, Smooth Operator drink, Lamb chops, and Veggie spring rolls. There was a DJ area with speakers and at the time nobody was DJing. They did have R&B hits playing from the speakers, which helped set the vibe and meshed well with the ambiance. Our drinks took about 10 minutes to get to the table. The Smooth Operator drink was delicious. It was refreshing, flavorful, and had a nice sweet/fruity balance. My boyfriend greatly enjoyed his drink and gave many compliments to the bartender. He stated his drink was smooth and very well crafted. Our food came to the table about 12 minutes later. The Lamb chops were pretty tender, savory, and very well seasoned. The rice was cooked to perfection and also quite tasty with a garlic butter profile. The Veggie spring rolls were crispy, crunchy, and seasoned well. The chili sauce that came with the spring rolls, was a great compliment with a kick and contrast. We greatly enjoyed the ambiance in this business which was had such a chill, grown, and sexy vibe. We had a great experience here and the service was efficient. This was a great short and sweet date night option for us. Especially since we went early in the evening on a Friday night. This is a great place to take a date for a drink or to have a night cap. I love that it is located right near Peters Street, which has many black owned businesses. I feel as though this is a hidden gem in Atlanta due to its low key vibe. As the night went on, there were more patrons that entered and ordered drinks/food. I would love to return on another occasion to try one of their other signature drinks. I would highly recommend this establishment to...
Read moreDefinitely a vibe, nice atmosphere and decor. Superb drinks and food albeit pricey. 3 tacos with just meat no tomatoes, cheese, lettuce run $30-40, drinks average $16 and up. Prices don't match customer service.Waitress not aware they didn't have lobster and steak tacos til 15 minutes after we ordered eventhough we were the first party to arrive. Took about 40 minutes to receive food. When ask for napkins one of the owners responded "No" but then said he wasn't serious when he realized we didn't get his humor. When he brought napkins asked "are you happy now" in a condescending tone. When I mention to him he instantly started telling me how he hand picked all women photos on wall for art. He then went on to say how everything he did in the Parlor was for women. It was like he was doing us a favor eventhough I told him it was our first visit. Parking in lot is $15 and the entrance is on side instead of front of building. A little confusing. It wasn't just us, other people were trying to gain entry at front too. We drove 25 minutes to get to The Parlor , not sure if I would return unless Im in the area. Too many other spots in Atl to go to, The Parlor might want to tighten up on customer service, it...
Read moreI went here last night and I’ll be back. I like the setting. I would definitely come here with a homegirl or two for a wine down or a nice little pit stop headed into a night/day of fun. It’s cute and the drink selection is nice. I had the joy ride and the taste definitely match the description. I wouldn’t come here hungry but the food they offer is nice. I had the tots. I won’t lie they weren’t the best but the aioli jalapeño sauce was great (made me feel like a loser for ordering ketchup). I also like that they have paring options listed under the dishes they serve. My only gripe is that we reserved a seat and we were told that we would be moved to our reserved seating but we never were. We spent our time sitting at the wall bar while multiple others were seated in our reserved area and our drinks and tots took a bit but we didn’t sweat it too much though. We were really just there for the vibe. I can’t remember the name of the young woman who assisted us last night but she was pleasant and pretty. Lovely aura and attitude (she had finger waves). We were having a terrible night so thanks for being a nice place to reset and charge up for the rest...
