Eminence Nails and Spa — Local services in Atlanta

Let me start off saying that I drove 50 minutes to get to this salon. I did so because I have been looking for a shop that will do my nails the way I want them, and that does a lot of different designs. When I went in I was seated immediately. I had an appointment, but as most people that get their nails done, having an appointment sometimes doesn’t matter. Well here it did, but I saw walk ins getting seated right away. Anyway, I saw Eric and I was soooo pleased with his work. I am VERY particular about my nails. I have been everywhere looking for someone that would do my nails the way that I ask for them to be done, not the way they want to do them. Well, right away Eric made me feel at ease. He asked what I wanted to get done. Also, I am very specific on the shape that I want my nails to be, and I told him that up front. He said no problem I want to do the shape that you want. He had to take off nails that I had just had done at a popular Buckhead nail bar, that were absolutely terrible ( it looked like a 5 year old did the ombré on my nails that they removed- and the shape was nothing like the i tire I had showed them and asked for- needless to say I will NEVER be going back there, after being a customer there for several months.) Anyway, back to my new nail spot and wonderful new nail tech. Eric said he wanted to do one of my nails, well shape it , and see if that is what I wanted. So he did, and it was perfect. He listened to what I asked for , did what I showed him in the picture and more. He was very patient with me. When I asked him to file a nail shorter or add some more color to the ombré he did it. No talking in another language., behind my back to other colleagues. He was like ok sure , I want you to be happy, he did it and asked me if that was ok.. if that is how i wanted it ( which shocked me because usually if you ask for a nail to be filed shorter or anything, usually you can tell that it irritates the tech.) When he was done, my nails were exactly how I wanted them. The shape, colors, design , everything was perfect. I have found a new nail place, that I will gladly drive 50 minutes to get to . What I experienced there is what you call CUSTOMER SERVICE! It is nice to know that it still exists . I also saw another techs work in the shop. Do not go to this nail salon! I was on my way home from work and the traffic on 400 was so terrible I pulled off the highway and was going to go shop around at Ulta and TJMaxx. But I figured I should treat myself to a pedicure and some acrylic nails. Now I have not had nails put on for a few years, but from the time I was in middle school until my 20’s I always had my nails done at least every 3 weeks. So I’m no rookie. So, I walk in to this nail salon and ask how long the wait is for a pedicure, the lady said she could seat me now. The salon looked nice and I was optimistic. I sat and my chair and two nail technicians walk over. I explain to the lady that I want acrylics put on but short and natural looking. So she gets to work. She was friendly and we were cutting up. I watched her fit the nail tips on and cut the length, everything seemed fine. But i recall thinking something wasn’t right. Then comes the inappropriate conversation about the other nail techs gender identity and if they were gay or not. I cringed inside at the whole thing but tried to remain friendly. I could tell that the person doing my pedicure was inexperienced but also very innocent and I can’t say anything bad about him. But the girl doing my nails rushed through and was finished with a full set in 20 min. She handed me the pedicure list and I picked the $50 deluxe thinking my manicure couldn’t be more than around $40. When she is done with my nails I look at them and I’m appalled. My cuticles had not been pushed back , the acrylic was thick and uneven and the nail underneath was lifting and was not drilled down. Also the acrylic was curving over the tip into my mail underneath. It was the worst nails that I’ve ever had done. So I call a gentleman’s attention over to show him underneath my nails what it looked like expecting him to realize how bad they looked all together. Nope… he drilled under 3 of my nails and walk away. I was so pissed at this point I wanted to leave and never return. I hand my debit card… my receipt is $112!!! I was just floored. Went in for pedicures with my sister and fiance, and their experiences were better. But the older female nail tech I had was terrible. She talked the entire time to her coworkers and not to me, didn't add the remote to the chair that allows massage and repositioning so I (as a taller Male) was scrunched in thre chair the entire time. Tech did an awful job at trimming/filing nails. Then she kept trying to push me to upgrade to a more expensive pedicure package. I had already selected the $45 package and she kept insisting I go up to the $65 or $120 package. Honestly the only reason I have a 3 start for this place instead of a 1 star is because pf the experience of the 2 people I went with. Their Male nail techs were much more accommodating to them and did a fantastic job on them. I'd try them again, just not with that nail tech.

Edit: After owner's response, I attempted to give the store a call as asked (11/2/2020 at 4:40pm and 4:41pm. The first time I was hung up on, and the second time and asked for a manager or owner. Whoever answered said I didn't need to speak to an owner or manager because they run the place sometimes. Then I was informed that she didn't know why I was told to call the store after leaving a review because they never do that. I asked for her name and she refused. I asked for the owner's name and when they would be in and was told the manager and owner are in and out all the time and she didn't know when they would be back. Again no names given. Before I could ask anything else, the woman said "ok bye" and disconnects the call. My opinion of this place is honestly going down the drain very quickly and as stated before I wanted to go back because of the service my sister and fiance received, but it seems every experience I have is...
