This is my experience at this location for a first time Keratin treatment. The hairstylist who attended to me began by discussing what my expectations would be for the visit in the beginning.During my response I asked for my hair not to be ripped out and I also asked for gentleness during the process however I received the opposite of gentleness. The hairstylist began detangling my hair while dry ,and when I asked for water to be used she told me that water would disrupt the products she would utilize and continued to detangle dry. When the time came to utilize the blow dryer after washing ,she hurt me ,I had to ask her to hold the the bottom of the section of hair as she combed through it using the blow dryer . Despite me consistently asking for my hair and scalp to be treated gently it was still rough to a point when it got even worse and I asked her to stop and suggested other better way to blow dry my hair without hurting my scalp ,as she proceeded she said something that hurts my heart .She told me I should ask God for different hair then quickly turned around and told me to ask God for my scalp not to be tender headed.Imagine a black woman saying this to another black woman.Imagine someone who is supposed to be a professional saying this to a client. No one should ever say this to anyone regardless of race.At that point all the other hair dressers had left for the evening she was the only one in the salon area the store staff was upfront.I responded to her by telling her I would never ask God to change my hair because I am happy with how he created it .In a nutshell it dawned on me that I had actually been attended to by someone who is passive aggressive. She never used a harsh tone of voice but she sure used demeaning aggressive words .That's one black woman saying to another black woman that she should ask God for different hair. That is someone who is supposed to be a professional saying such words to a client. That is one human saying this to another human.I am utterly disappointed. She has a lot of self hate for herself and she is projecting that hate unto customers. To anyone seeking to do a Keratin treatment, you are better off doing it yourself at home don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSuper satisfied. Excellent service. I was there to replace my entire makeup kit.
I was helped by an associate named Terita (uncertain of spelling), and she spent a quality amount of time helping me find a foundation that worked on my difficult dry/oily/rosacea/large pore skin. We went through a handful of brands before finding one that took. Multiple, quality full-coverage foundations that, on my own, I would have assumed it was my own error that contributed to a bad outcome.
I always thought brands like dermablend ought to work just fine for me. Nope. Not even with good primer.
I have a fairly good grasp of technique, so I knew I likely needed help from someone much more practiced. After finding āthe oneā, I can say that I never had one that worked so well! It took a while. And I needed quality for stage performing.
Terita also dropped tips and advice for application during testing. And still more time (the easier, faster part) to help me fill in the rest of the kit. Very approachable, knowledgeable, and courteous! Never made me feel embarrassed (although I am not easily embarrassed anyway).
Lastly, she helped me identify products that can help me better prep and then remove everything.
No products were āpushedā on me, and I was informed of prices and possible less expensive options without any prompting needed or assumptions made. Plus good return policy if I need it. Tip: your receipt is saved online if you have an account. The app also has a lot of coupons.
I believe Ulta offers professional makeup appointments (I think unavailable right now) but this was just me shopping around. Could have easily continued on my way - and then probably would have purchased the wrong product.
I donāt always find somebody that knowledgeable, but that is just the way of things. Even in a Spa setting full of aestheticians I will find contradictory advice. Patience and persistence is important if you have difficult skin. But well worth it to minimize the repeated annoyance and feeling inadequate at makeup application. Iāve skipped foundation for years for that reason, and itās really annoying since I would rather have my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATE 12/9/24: that light skin one got a nasty attitude I literally hate this location . Even if itās a pickup ! The store as usual is a hot mess as well ! Nasty store with an even nastier staff ! This is it for me I wonāt return to this location !
If I could give this location no stars I would . I had an order pick up walked in and immediately was like what the heck . This store is so cluttered never mind the huge lock boxes for the perfumes and the shelves falling apart in the makeup section . I looked over at the Juvias place display and the shelf was basically collapsing . The store was an absolute mess! Stuff everywhere ! Mind you itās like 11am on a Thursday . Anyway ! There was a girl clearly on a personal call completely ignored me so I quietly stood over at the register . Waited and waited some more . Then finally I said to her ādo you work here ?ā She said āyes let me find someone to help you ā huh ? lol then she walked away and then another girl walked by saw me . Looked at me and started grabbing a bin Iām assuming to put away hopefully . I said ā do you guys not have employees? ā she said ā we doā and went to look for someone FINALLY ! Someone came out to get me my pickup but then with my pickup in her hand that Iāve already been waiting for was assisting someone else instead of finishing up with me first . The store is a mess the staff is non existent which I mean is probably why they are getting robbed . The way they have that stuff locked up . Everyone knows customer service is how you can help prevent theft. Just a mess...
