NYAH Med Spa — Local services in Atlanta

My honest opinion is that you get what you pay for. I chose to try this med spa on the recommendation of a friend who sold me on “it’s cheaper and comparable”. It’s most definitely cheaper but nowhere near comparable to the other med spa I receive other services at. The wait time. It doesn’t matter if I get there 10 minutes before my appointment or 5 minutes before, I’m always seen after my appointment time. Also, if you are used to a med spa that values your time and/or has a grace period…you will not find that here. Atlanta traffic sucks, but don’t you dare be late here or you jeopardize not getting your full treatment. Checking in 5 mins late then waiting an additional 10 mins makes you 15 mins into your appointment time. For example, if your appointment is at 3pm you will be seen at 3:10, there is always a wait.

The technicians are not pleasant. I’ve tried 3 different technicians and always left unsatisfied with my experience. Unfortunately, I feel like this is the type of place where you must tip regardless of level of service (“if you know, you know”), therefore there’s a pressure I feel to tip to avoid retaliation.

I hesitate to mention this because it goes back to my “you get what you pay for”. There’s a complete lack of thoroughness with the techs. I’m not sure if due to my experience with the other med spa, I am holding NYAH to a standard that is unfair. However, I find areas missed during my sessions. Inconsistency with each tech( some “freestyle” the session and others chalk out the areas). There is also absolutely no follow up. Again, maybe undue concern due to comparison, but I have only had one technician ask/give me feedback on my treatment area concerns. Yet, they don’t hesitate to ask you about that tip at checkout.

Scheduling. Again, not sure if this an unfair comparison, but from not being able to schedule in advance (I believe the schedule is only open a certain time frame), weekend availability is hard to come by, one text reminder (I find that it’s best not to confirm your appointment until you get the one text reminder 3 days prior to your appointment), hard to reschedule (again the other spa has a text system where it’s easy to make same day changes and they are very accommodating and understanding….but once again, you get what you pay for).

I think this spa is in a great location (plus ample free parking) and has the potential to adequately compete with nearby spas, however there would need to be some major improvements. As of now, other than price point which honestly doesn’t make up for lack of value, I have no desire to purchase another package. I personally will finish out my current sessions and not return. I have one additional area that I purchased, due to the convincing the owner did when I first came in (I wish I had followed my gut) but honestly I’d rather not start those sessions and take that loss.

I have been avoiding leaving this review because part of me feels like my opinions are biased based on the services and experiences I’ve had with the other med spa. However, if I had seen this review, I would have just coughed up more money and continued with the other...

So far I am pretty impressed. I've been wanting laser hair removal on my armpits and bikini area for a long time but could never afford it. A friend found a Groupon for this place online and had a pleasant experience here so she recommended it to me. I also got the Groupon easily. I called to set up my consultation and got an answer right away! Unfortunately it takes a LONG time to get booked here but that's a good thing in my eyes as they have tons of clients so it must be a decent place. It's a little confusing finding the place since they moved locations but my consultation was quick and easy, the place is extremely nice and clean. All staff was friendly. A few weeks ago I got my first laser session and it was pretty painful but super quick. You're not pressured to tip but as a Groupon user I feel leaving a nice size tip is important. They got me booked for my second session at a reasonable time into the future, no complaints there. So far I've already seen a decrease in hair growth after one session for my armpits, no noted difference in bikini area yet. As of now I will be recommending this place to all my friends wanting to get laser. Can't wait to see bigger results after...

I used to rave about this place but now all I can talk about is how this place is slowly going downhill. The package prices are getting ridiculous! When I first started coming here one area could cover my entire bikini area. Now they have split the bikini area into three separate areas and increased the price of each area by $20. Oh, and here’s a tip: the specials that they have every months aren’t specials. They’re just another way to collect more money out of you. Not to mention, the new staff that they have here rush through your service and it’s beginning to show in my results. I’ve been coming here for almost two years (counting during the pandemic) and nothing to show for loyal returning customers. Also, they stop allowing us to personally tip the women who do our services. Again, another way for the company to make more money. I want to love this place again but I can’t. It’s becoming obvious that they prioritize money over results here and I need to find somewhere else that will provide me lasting...
