DO NOT BOOK HERE – FILTHY, UNSAFE, AND COMPLETELY UNETHICAL
I booked a stay at StayATL | Hotel District Downtown Atlanta Condo through VRBO, and it was an absolute nightmare. Upon arrival, I was met with a disturbing scene—multiple drug addicts lingering directly outside the entrance, looking like zombies. This immediately made me feel unsafe, but things only got worse once I entered the unit.
The room was filthy—there were roaches, both dead and alive, stained couches, dirty walls, and an overall disgusting level of uncleanliness. It was clear that this unit had not been properly maintained. When I brought these concerns to the host, Ryan, his only response was to ask if I had properly checked out—completely ignoring the actual issues.
VRBO claims they must go through STAY ATL for a refund, but despite booking four nights, I didn’t even stay for 24 hours. Not only has the company refused to respond for months, but they fraudulently altered my booking information to make it seem as though I only booked for one night at the full price of four.
To make matters worse, when we finally got in touch with someone from the company, they said Ryan couldn’t answer because he was playing basketball. This level of unprofessionalism and blatant disregard for customers is beyond unacceptable.
While the pictures of the unit were technically accurate, they conveniently left out the filth that came with it. STAY ATL is a shady, unethical company that does not care about its guests. I felt scammed, unsafe, and completely uncomfortable. Do not book here—find a place that actually values cleanliness, honesty, and...
Read moreI was relentlessly prompted and harassed by StayATL to leave a review, so here it is. In August 2023, we stayed in 300 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30308 (Peachtree Towers Condominiums). Our unit was 12-G.
The apartment we stayed in was a great layout for our family, and the building was in a good location. The building is very, very old.
I'm leaving a one-star review for the following reasons:
-The floor had not been cleaned in this unit, for weeks. There was hair everywhere, and the floors and carpet felt incredibly sticky and dirty.
-Unit was advertised as having a washer and dryer. We flew in from out of town and packed light, because this was advertised as being available. That said, the washer was never, ever cleaned, and it was unusable. The door was shut on the washer and it had an overpowering stench of mold and mildew. Inside the washer, I found a lighter that had been run through the wash by a previous renter. Just super, super gross.
-The cable box in the main room didn't work. We brought other means to watch TV in this room.
-The building did not have adequate air conditioning for the hot Atlanta weather. A loud portable AC ran 24/7 in the room to keep it at a reasonable temperature. It was difficult to hold a conversation in the main room for this reason.
We alerted StayATL to all these issues during our stay via email and text. All communications were one-way; they never responded. Don't rely on them to be a good host if you are looking for a...
Read moreYes, VRBO, I’m back. Here’s my review.
To say that I was disappointed is a great understatement. Even the cheapest Motel 6 has some sort of drapes. Even the lowliest Econo-Lodge has sugar and creamer for the coffee. Even the Holiday Inn Express has clean pillows. Even at the No-Tell Motel, the toilet flushes. When an apartment advertises paid parking available, they normally deliver. Like most of my VRBO rentals, I assumed that 940 Piedmont #220 would at least meet those minimum standards.
However, it seems that 940 Piedmont #220 put thousands of dollars into a high-end kitchen countertops, and didn’t save anything for creature comforts. Yes, the island is black quartz and is the size of an aircraft carrier. Yes, the decor is trendy. Yes, it has contactless check-in and check-out. On the other hand, none of the TEN windows has any sort of drapes, only Venetian blinds, and they block out little light in this very bright neighborhood. You can read by the residual light.
Yes, it’s in a great neighborhood. This doesn’t help when you can’t sleep because of the bright room.
Not only will we not return, we will not rent any property from StayATL. The excessive fees, the draconian paperwork (if I send you a copy of my passport, why must I manually re-enter the information???), the very slow response online are only some of the reasons. For the same money or less, we could have stayed at the Wyndham just around the corner.
Don’t...
